Here is your cost position for Nuclear Power William Shackel. 12+billion for a "Net Consumer" of energy. Pumped hydro is not a renewable source, it is a market manipulating power plant, that has to consume more power than it produces. That is unless Steven Miles has developed a way to defy known physics. (energy in = energy out) + losses. https://lnkd.in/gcadjhSP

UKRAINE'S HYDROPOWER CRIPPLED AMID ONGOING CONFLICT In a severe blow to Ukraine's energy infrastructure, Ukrhydroenergo, the state hydropower generating company, has reported that two hydroelectric facilities are now rendered inoperable following enemy shelling on 8th May. While the names of the affected plants were not disclosed, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed that several regions were impacted by the enemy shelling, leaving numerous energy users without power. Ukrhydroenergo stated that all hydro generation in Ukraine has suffered devastating damage, requiring significant efforts and financial resources to repair and restore the destroyed equipment. The company had previously reported that it would take years to restore the 661 MW Dnipro 2 hydropower project after a recent bombing incident. As Ukraine grapples with the aftermath of these attacks, the Ministry of Energy is exploring plans for restoration and decentralisation of generation, seeking cooperation with companies like GE Vernova to strengthen the energy sector and develop microgrids. ⚡ Follow MPS (Modern Power Systems) for all the latest news daily from the global power generation industry ⚡ #MPS #power #energy #powergeneration #hydropower

Best invest in Building Fusion power, space, and maritime propulsion systems and industry, You talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk Commercial fusion electrical generation is a promising innovative sustainable and clean energy method. By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. British Columbia requires more renewable energy projects in addition to Site C which is experiencing a drought with s risk of reduced power generation. Potential green energy solutions include small hydro, run of river, geothermal and nuclear. Longer term investment in nuclear may be the best option.
In an era of drought, can B.C. rely on Site C and other hydro projects? | CBC News

In 2017, Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN) alongside Ontario Power Generation (OPG) launched the Peter Sutherland Sr. Hydroelectric Generating Station in Northern Ontario. This landmark project not only champions sustainable development but also showcases the profound influence of Indigenous leadership and ownership equity. TTN wasn’t just involved in the development; we co-owned and co-managed the facility, ensuring that the benefits are shared equitably and reflect our commitment to sustainable resource management. As the Deputy Chief and former Economic Development Officer of Taykwa Tagamou Nation, I take immense pride in the PSSGS project. From the initial planning stages to the celebratory flipping of the switch. This project wasn’t just a first of its kind because of its scale or technology, but because it was a testament to what happens when Indigenous communities are in the driver’s seat: we don’t just go along for the ride, we map the route and push the pedal to the metal. This partnership has redefined traditional roles, proving that equity and authority do not merely support sustainability—they propel it. The Peter Sutherland Sr. Generating Station is more than a hydroelectric facility; it’s a milestone in our ongoing journey toward a cleaner, more equitable energy future. As Ontario celebrates over a decade without coal power, the role of Indigenous leadership stands out sharply. Projects like these not only generate electricity; they forge paths for leadership and innovation within and beyond our communities. Let’s keep pushing for more opportunities where Indigenous voices are not just heard, but are leading the conversation. #IndigenousLeadership #RenewableEnergy #SustainableDevelopment https://lnkd.in/gUdVUhHK

Last week I drove past the Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal power station. The site had shut down in September as most of you know thanks to wide coverage, marking a huge milestone - having been the last UK coal power station. As pioneers in power generation and leaders of the industrial revolution the UK has been responsible for the first coal-powered engine invented by James Watt and then the first country to establish a coal-powered station in London - Holborn Viaduct famously opened by Thomas Edison's company in 1882. Now, 144 years later we are closing doors of the UK's last coal power plant. With renewable and nuclear energy leading the way UK is definitely doing its bit to make the world a better place. All the other aspects of the energy transformation such as transport, storage, housing, agriculture only make sense if the energy to fuel the change comes from the right place. Can more be done? Certainly. Especially in terms of multi-national cooperation and dialogue, as UK is really a very small cog in the world's machinery. Last year having contributed to the overall coal generated energy output 200 times less than the leading nation. Absolutely crushing data. And as for Ratcliffe-on-Soar, redevelopment plans consist mainly of knocking the power plant down and creating manufacturing, logistics and green energy generating facilities. Great way of doing more for the economy, contributing towards green energy whilst maintaining Ratcliffe's position in the region and boosting local communities. I am just a bit disappointed that the cooling towers won't stay to be converted into a monument similar to Battersea Power Station. A view point perhaps, a concert hall with crazy acoustics, a museum? Any ideas?! #renewableenergy #renewables #greenenergy #evcharging #ev #construction #power #coal
