Ever since I was in 6th grade, excelling in math, I knew I wanted to pursue engineering. I set my sights on IOE, and now I’ve recently graduated from there. To be honest, while our institute has its challenges, there are also incredible opportunities, especially in terms of freedom—freedom of creativity, expression, and curiosity. I believe many institutions that nurture talented students offer these same privileges. I graduated with good grades, and just a week after completing my studies, I began my professional journey. After exploring different industries and meeting with various professionals, I finally landed a job as an engineer in the hydropower sector. Stepping into this role with no prior experience—only the theoretical knowledge from my degree—was daunting. I found myself working with seasoned professionals, which made me realize that to grow, I had to set aside any ego or sense of seniority and embrace learning from those around me. After about four months on-site, I realized I was not just working; I was undergoing another form of engineering—developing hands-on skills and learning practical lessons every day. If there’s one piece of advice I could offer, it’s this: Don’t rush your future. Let it flow naturally, like water, and focus on continuous growth and learning along the way.
