Once again, Endeavour Group has proudly thrown its full support behind Wear It Purple Day, with our teams across Dan Murphy's and BWS stores, ALH Hotels, and support offices nationwide embracing the celebration of diversity and visibility. The enthusiasm and creativity shown by our teams has been nothing short of inspiring, as we’ve united to uplift and support LGBTQIA+ youth in every corner of the business. 💜💜💜 Earlier this week, Proud at Endeavour hosted an inspiring Wear It Purple Day panel discussion, celebrating diversity, visibility, and our unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The event was a fantastic blend of learning, networking, and a shared commitment to uplifting rainbow youth across Australia. Held across multiple locations in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, and accessible online, it was an afternoon filled with meaningful conversations, valuable insights, and a strong sense of community spirit.

Pride Marches - growing numbers of allies! Since 2000, Pride marches worldwide have seen a remarkable increase in attendance, highlighting growing support for the LGBTQIA+ community. In countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, attendance numbers have skyrocketed, signaling a shift towards greater acceptance and allyship. 🌈 In the United States, New York City's Pride march saw around 2 million participants in 2023, up from 200,000 in 2000. 🌈 London Pride attracted over 1 million attendees in 2023, compared to just 40,000 in 2000. 🌈 Meanwhile, São Paulo's Pride Parade in Brazil has grown to become one of the largest in the world, drawing over 3 million participants annually. This surge in attendance not only reflects increased visibility and support within the LGBTQIA+ community but also indicates that more allies are joining the cause. Allies play a crucial role in advocating for equal rights and promoting inclusive workplaces for all. To show that you’re also an ally, you can 🌈 Educate yourself: Understand LGBTQIA+ issues, history, and terminology. 🌈 Speak Up: Challenge discriminatory remarks and behaviours. 🌈 Support LGBTQIA+ Organisations: Volunteer or donate to relevant charities. 🌈 Promote Inclusive Policies: Advocate for equal rights in workplaces and communities. 🌈 Celebrate Diversity: Participate in Pride events and celebrate LGBTQIA+ culture. By taking these actions, allies contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone! If you’d like to understand more about all the letters, or if you'd like to think further about what you can do in your own organisation to support your LGBTQIA+ colleagues (whether they’re out or not!) I can help. #DiversityandInclusion #Inclusion #Leadership #GlobalAndInclusive Photo credit: doctorho from Hong Kong - 香港同志遊行/HONG KONG PRIDE PARADE 2014

Embracing Diversity for a Better Future As we celebrate National Inclusion Week, it's vital to reflect on how we can foster environments where everyone feels valued and heard. Embracing diversity isn't just a tick-box exercise - it's about genuinely understanding, respecting, and celebrating the differences that make us unique. Through our actions, we can create a workplace and society that champions inclusivity. One effective way to delve deeper into inclusion is through education. By learning about pivotal moments in history, such as the founding of the NAACP in 1909 or the formation of the Paralympics in 1960, we gain insights into the strides made towards an inclusive society. I find that dedicating some time to read about these milestones not only enhances my knowledge but also strengthens my commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. The Inclusive Employers' website offers a plethora of resources to get started on this educational journey. Participating in or organising National Inclusion Week events can make a significant difference. Whether it's attending webinars, volunteering, or even hosting local events, the goal is to bring people together and promote understanding. For example, inviting speakers with lived experiences of disabilities or cultural differences can enlighten us about the challenges they face and the ways we can support them. Creating opportunities for children to experience activities that simulate disabilities can be profoundly impactful, helping them understand the importance of empathy and inclusion from a young age. By continuing these efforts beyond National Inclusion Week, we can ensure that inclusivity remains a priority all year round. Let's commit to celebrating diversity in its many forms, and working towards a world where every individual is truly valued and heard. #NationalInclusionWeek #DiversityMatters #InclusionForAll

Allyship starts with a belief in equality. But that's just the beginning. It means leaning into acceptance of lived experiences. Actively fighting against oppression. Truly understanding your own privilege and using it to stand with and for others so that we all benefit from the steps toward equality. There's always been purposeful effort by Mediavine team members to make sure we can all show up exactly as who we are and be accepted wholly. It's my very favorite thing about the place we have built. #pride #socialimpact #equity #equality
At Mediavine, we believe the future is inclusive. Our commitment to belonging is woven throughout every pillar of our organization, from Social Impact to Publisher Support. Today we’re highlighting two initiatives through which we’re supporting the LGBTQIA+ community: Shine is our corporate community outreach pillar dedicated to developing ways for both our publisher partners and our employees to give back to the communities and organizations we — and they — support, online and off. Through Uplift, we’re delivering equity in ad spend to thousands of diverse publishers, enabling advertisers to support these creators and reach their audiences at scale. Join us in building and celebrating a world where everyone belongs. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈

As community development practitioners, it’s imperative to champion sustainability and scalability while ensuring inclusivity and diversity. Sustainable initiatives create lasting impact, while scalability enables widespread change. It’s crucial to provide opportunities for minorities and underrepresented groups, including women, to actively participate in shaping their communities’ future. Moreover, amplifying the voices of those impacted by development ensures initiatives truly meet their needs. Let’s not fear change but embrace it as an opportunity for growth and innovation. Together, let’s build resilient, inclusive, and vibrant communities where everyone has a seat at the table. #CommunityDevelopment #Inclusion #Sustainability
