🍾 Popping the bubbly for Arts by the Sea! 🍾 I'm thrilled for the amazing team behind Arts By The Sea, who just bagged the Tourism Event/Festival of the Year award at the Dorset Tourism Awards. This recognition is incredibly well-deserved, and not just for their brilliance, (also read: blood, sweat, and tears!) they pour into creating a magical experience for everyone. Arts by the Sea is more than just a fun outing for tourists (though it certainly delivers on that front!). It's woven into the fabric of Bournemouth, bringing our community together, supporting local businesses, and injecting creativity into every corner. In 2022, the festival attracted over 120,000 visitors and generated a direct gross visitor spend of £2.5 million. With local authorities facing tough challenges, we’re seeing the arts community squeezed, displaced, and undermined. This award win is a powerful reminder of the value Arts by the Sea brings to our community. There’s no doubt that the future holds challenges, but for now - it's time for celebration and appreciation. 👏 Andrea Francis 👏 Tor Byrnes 👏 Nuala Clarke 👏 Leigh Hayler 🎥 Here's the wrap-up film for 2023 - https://lnkd.in/ecCRV4Hc #artsbythesea
Absolutely delighted to announce the Arts by the Sea festival as winner of the Dorset Tourism Award for Tourism Event / Festival of the year! Its fantastic to receive this recognition for the difference the festival makes to the local economy and our local communities. A huge thank you from me to our small but mighty festival team who work their socks off in what is an incredibly challenging climate for culture right now, to bring this fantastic event to our residents and visitors. See you at Arts by the Sea 2024, 27th - 29th September! #artsbythesea #DorsetTA
