Bahrain has announced an extension of its summer midday work ban to three months, effective next year i.e 2024, running from June 15 to September 15. This decision, made by the Bahraini Cabinet, replaces the previous two-month ban and follows advocacy efforts from civil societies and trade unions, particularly the Migrant Workers Protection Society's #ExtendTheShade campaign. While this move is seen as a positive development amid an economic downturn and fewer construction projects, concerns remain regarding the ban's arbitrary scheduling based on calendar dates rather than actual temperature conditions. Many workers, including those in sectors like security and delivery, are still exposed to extreme heat outside the designated hours of 12 pm to 4 pm, highlighting gaps in worker protection during Bahrain's intense summer months. #BeyondBordersHR #BBHR #HR #HRConsulting #HRservices #HRAdvisory #GlobalHR #EmploymentContracts #GlobalTeam #lawupdate #Bahrain #Bahrainlegislation #BahrainEmploymentlaw #EmployeeRightsBahrain #employeerights #EmploymentRights #EmploymentRights #MigrantWorkers #Summer2025
