As I wrap up the final bits before the festive break, I’ve been reflecting on what an incredible year it has been! At the start of 2024, I made the decision to leave a job I loved to go freelance and focus on developing myself… well, that didn’t last long! Stream7 quickly offered me a role alongside my freelance work, and it’s been an absolute whirlwind ever since. To round off the year, I wanted to share some of my favorite moments: 🎉 My final Get up to Speed with STEM working with The Work-wise Foundation. Don’t worry, I’ll still be involved next year - just wearing my Stream7 and Kids Invent Stuff hats! This is hands-down the BEST event of the year and one I’m so proud to have been part of for over 6 years now. 🤯 📚 Organising Ruth’s book launch for The Inventors Club. 🏆 Stream7 being shortlisted for THREE awards! Celebrating with the team at the awards dinners was fantastic (even though half the team managed to be in Kenya or Argentina for both ceremonies and we didn't win!). 🎪 Delivering workshops at Latitude Festival with Kids Invent Stuff - though I could have done without the camping part! ⛺️ 🛥️ Attending Event Tech Live with Stream7 and meeting so many amazing people in the industry (okay, staying on a yacht may have been a bonus…). 🤖 The Robot Pageant! Such a fun project, and I can’t wait to see it come to life again next year. I love working with these two inspiring women - thank you both for being so supportive. 🌐 Developing the Stream7 brand and website (sorry, Darren, I know this nearly finished you off). There’s still a lot to do, but I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in just six months. 🛠️ Makers Central! Meeting the maker community, seeing kids excited to meet Ruth, and, of course, the bubble wand! (Although I may now be banned from a few local Poundlands for clearing out their bubble stock…). 🫧 📺 Attending The National Lottery's NYE Big Bash with Kids Invent Stuff and the Guinness World Records breaking Giant Electric Toothbrush - three key takeaways here: everyone needs to tune in on NYE to see Ruth, that toothbrush is REALLY heavy to carry through Wembley and I got to meet my idol Craig David! Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who supported me in taking the leap earlier this year. It was scary, but I’m so glad I did it. Here’s to an exciting 2025!
