For some reason a few weeks ago, I thought it would be a smart idea to get another puppy. We welcomed Rose to our family, joining our 4-year-old dog, Axel. Yes, I am a fan of Guns & Roses. What I forgot about were the accidents, whining, and sleepless nights that came along with the cuteness overload.
In both my personal and professional life, I thrive in smaller environments where I can make a real impact on the organization and its processes. Just like bringing home a new puppy, introducing a new process at work demands patience, consistency, and a touch of chaos.
Training a Puppy:
- Patience: Expect accidents and setbacks as they learn.
- Consistency: Regular training and routines are key.
- Reward Progress: Celebrate each small achievement with treats and praise.
Adopting a New Process:
- Patience: Adjustments take time, and mistakes are part of the learning curve.
- Consistency: Stick to the plan and reinforce it consistently.
- Acknowledge Wins: Recognize and celebrate every step forward.
Whether it's a wagging tail or a streamlined workflow, both journeys require dedication and a positive mindset. Stay committed, and before you know it, both your puppy and your process will be well-trained!
