Have you cast your vote in the M&IT Awards? Voting is in full swing, and YOU get to choose the winners! Publishers of an industry-focused magazine and hosts of popular networking events throughout the year—their awards are kind of a big deal. Do you know what else is a big deal (or at least to us anyway)? Collaboration over competition. This is why, even though we’d love votes for Best Large Intermediary Agency of the Year we’re simply here to remind you that your vote matters and is appreciated. The events industry is full of so many deserving, hard-working, and creative people who make it one of the best industries in the world to work in, so please take a few minutes to cast a vote to ensure that hard work gets recognised! None of the awards categories are mandatory, and you can vote for as many or as few as you like! https://hubs.li/Q02nM5cb0 #EventProfs #EventAgencies #MITAwards

I’m really humbled to have been nominated to stand for the UKIE board this year. If you’re the person in your organisation that has the vote I’d really appreciate a vote for me. As a self-taught designer, my journey has been fuelled by an unrelenting passion for excellence. I am deeply committed to nurturing talent, no matter of age, background, or experience. My ambition isn’t just about personal success, it's about lifting others. I’m eager to share what I've learned with those who are hungry to grow, while navigating this challenging industry. I have a natural ability to spot potential in others, helping them find their voice, and connecting them with opportunities. I've battled my own demons and have come out stronger. Now, I use those experiences to offer genuine support and encouragement to others facing similar struggles. I know what it feels like to start at the bottom, to step into a new industry and fight just to stay afloat. I've faced the grind, pushing through daily obstacles. I know what it means to be a woman in a world that often underestimates us, to be a person of colour navigating spaces that weren't always built with us in mind. I've learned to trust my gut, even when others told me I was wrong. I've felt the frustration of being held back when all I wanted was to speak up and prove my worth. Every challenge, every doubt thrown my way, has only fuelled my determination to rise above and show what I'm capable of. It would be an amazing opportunity to serve on the UKIE board. My focus will be to drive meaningful improvements in recruitment, skill development, and education, while also reshaping how our industry is viewed. I want to create opportunities for more people to join us and benefit from the same rewarding experiences we enjoy every day. By pushing for these changes, we can open doors for others and ensure the industry thrives. Amazing to be nominated with this incredible group of nominees: Reedah El-Saie Li MA Melissa Phillips Samantha Ebelthite María Sayans Anna Kozlova🇺🇦 🎮 Mark Backler Caolan McKendry Michael Heywood Peter King Simon Barratt Simon Byron Simon Sparks Tim Scott Vadim Andreev #UKIE #BoardNomination #creativity #inspiration

A week today we’ll be hosting the latest in our series of MPs Question Time events sponsored by Woodland Group. In the run-up to a General Election - and with many economic headwinds still prevailing - there's never been a more important time to ensure that Doncaster’s politicians are appraised of the challenges and opportunities facing your business. For those that have attended these events in the past, I’d also note that we will be giving it a bit overhaul, based on your feedback, to emphasise interactivity and be less reliant on pre-submitted questions. Hopefully, this subtle reboot will produce more spontaneous discussions and give you more of a chance to have your say. On that note, I’ll personally be facilitating this session and will asking the attending politicians one question only before then going to floor for direct input from the business leaders in the room. We’ll also be asking attendees to contribute to a few anonymous polls on the day to ask how delegates are feeling about what they’re hearing and what’s going to influence their voting intentions. Despite the understandable frustrations that we all have with politics from time to time, the more businesses that attend events like these, the louder our collective voice is. If you’ve not yet booked on, get your voice heard by signing up here: https://lnkd.in/ePRVPdpq. Today is #VoterRegistrationDay here in the US. Do you know if you're registered to vote (or if your registration is up to date with any recent address/name changes, etc)? If you aren't 100% sure (or if you aren't registered at all), there's a new resource to help you remedy that and to learn about the issues impacting our industry. * Check out "ECA Votes" at ECAVotes.com One of my favorite things about the Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance is that they're always focusing on the issues (vs. the politics). This way, we can all work together to support our industry's top priorities, no matter which individuals we're each voting for - I hope I said that correctly :) In addition to the above resource (where you can register to vote, read about the issues, and sign up for webinars)... I also found this website (https://lnkd.in/egP9rCPv) which explains the super simple process to confirm your voter registration status. * If you think you're already registered, you may want to double check anyway (for example - hopefully not an issue for you... but, did you know that your registration may be marked as "inactive" if you haven't voted in a while?)... just don't forget to circle back to the other link for industry-specific information too. PS. I'm not much of an expert in any of this, so I'll leave it to Tommy Goodwin and his team to address your more technical questions ;) Hope you don't mind the tag, Tommy! #TradeShows #Vote #USA

How do we help bridge the gulf between the promises of digital providers and professionals and the lived experience of parliamentary candidates and those whose votes they will be seeking. The 2009 Dragons Dens organised under the umbrella of what is now the Digital Policy Alliance were most informative, as well as being great fun. A different format will be needed this time, with scrutiny events before the summer breaks, because the party conferences, assuming they happen, will be pre-election rallies, too late to help put flesh on the current headline "manifestos" let alone expose them to scrutiny or help officials draft implementation plans for who-ever becomes their minister. I am looking to identify those interested in working together to identify realistic proposals to address skills gaps and improve productivity, with the potential for cross-party, cross-interest group support - given that anything which requires new public money and/or primary legislation is unlikely to bear fruit before 2028 even if included in the 2025 Kings Speech and subsequent budget #Digitaltories #labourdigital #digitiallibdems #techuk #techskills #bcs #iet #rae #inca #fcs #ics2 #isaca #ciisec #dpa #digitalleaders

A call to action...191 Federally recognized tribes have come together at the Alaska Federation of Natives convention starting to prepare for a future for new generations. Sharing the resolutions they have agreed to pass in hopes you are inspired to start sustainable practices in your communities as we need to come together and prepare for our future generations. Let's connect.#Web,#Sustainability,#SDGs, #nativeamerican,#CEO,#COO, #Linkedinleaders, #Indigenouswisdom, #Callforaction, #Interconnectedness ABOUT AFN The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) is the largest statewide Native organization in Alaska. Founded in 1966, AFN celebrated its 50th year in 2016. Its membership includes 191 federally recognized tribes, 171 village corporations, 12 regional corporations, and 12 regional nonprofit and tribal consortiums that contract and compact to run federal and state programs. AFN is governed by a 38-member board, which is elected by its membership at the annual convention held each October. The mission of AFN is to enhance and promote the cultural, economic and political voice of the entire Alaska Native community. Learn more at www.nativefederation.org. AFN Convention Update Delegates at the 2024 AFN Convention passed 18 resolutions including endorsements of Mary Peltola and No on Ballot Measure 2 ANCHORAGE, AK - On the final day of the 2024 AFN Convention, the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) delegates voted to pass 18 resolutions. These included endorsements for Representative Mary Sattler Peltola in her campaign to continue representing Alaska in the nation's capital, as well as a "no" vote on Ballot Measure 2 to protect Alaska's open primary and ranked choice voting election system. The resolutions process not only fosters meaningful discussions but also ensures that diverse perspectives are considered, leading to well-informed and inclusive decision-making. The resolutions passed at the AFN Convention serve as a roadmap for future actions, reflecting the collective will and vision of AFN's members. "The resolution process at the AFN Convention is of utmost importance as it provides an opportunity for AFN’s delegates to address and deliberate on key issues that impact our Alaska Native communities,” Ben Mallott, AFN President, said. “Resolutions shape the direction and priorities of AFN, ultimately influencing our seat at the table and ensuring our political representation, and is why endorsements like ours for Representative Peltola and No On 2 are critical for our communities.” Final 2024 AFN Resolutions are available here: https://lnkd.in/g7Si2pQ6 For more information, contact Nikki Stoops at [email protected].
