Making a positive impact through nonprofits is something a lot of people want to do, but taking on the extra responsibility can be daunting. With 92% of US nonprofits operating on less than $1 million a year, their amazing work is stretched thin. So, it's important to not just have great ideas but also take ownership of them to make a real difference. Out TODAY on Leading with integrity, Ep.97: Are You On The Right Bus? Nonprofit Leadership and How to Be An Adaptable Leader, with Angela Burgess. I recently completed the "Introduction to the Nonprofit Sector, Nonprofit Organizations, Nonprofit Leadership and Governance" course from University at Buffalo. It provided valuable insights into leadership, governance, and board efficiency that I am eager to apply in my public policy and Indigenous affairs work in Nunavut. If you have experience or interest in these areas, I’d love to connect and exchange ideas! #NonprofitGovernance #Leadership #PublicPolicy #IndigenousAffairs

Nonprofit Leaders: The most valuable advice I can give about engaging with your community is to get comfortable going alone. Show up by yourself, especially to events you're unfamiliar with. That takes courage, and it exemplifies true leadership. Don't look for familiar faces; instead, seek out new connections. Always carry your message with you. While you attend as an individual, you represent your nonprofit or charity. Be prepared to talk about your work, much like someone in sales. Focus on your organization's mission rather than personal topics like your grandchildren or recent vacation. Your goal is to embed your work in people's minds. This is what nonprofit leadership in your community looks like.
