Lady Gaga was dropped from her first record label. Stephen King received 60 rejection letters before publishing his first short story. Oprah Winfrey was told she was unfit for television news. But today’s blog isn’t about any of those people. It’s about Cookie the Pug. Outwardly, there’s nothing overtly exceptional about Cookie (other than being a darn cute dog). The thing that’s notable – exceptional even – about Cookie the Pug is that she loves agility training. That’s right, with those short-as-ever legs and that stout little body, she loves to do all the things agility training requires: running up and down planks, dashing left and right between poles, and everything in between. So what’s the lesson here? Lady Gaga, I’ve been told by a friend who is her saxophonist, holds a singular focus for making her visions realities – so it’s no wonder getting dropped from her first record label didn’t deter her in the slightest. Stephen King loved to write and was determined to make it as a writer, even after 60+ rejection letters. Oprah Winfrey has overcome numerous incredible obstacles to get where she is today. Yes, being born into cushy circumstances can of course make things easier – but it’s not our circumstances that ultimately decide whether or not we succeed. In the end, it’s all about desire, determination, and sheer will. So if you want to be a pianist, don’t worry about your short stubby fingers. If you want to be a basketball player, don’t worry about your lack of height. If you want to be a business owner, don’t worry about your lack of organization. Just remember Cookie the Pug. And go after whatever it is you love to do. #determination #cookiethepug #agilitydog #ellanyze

How do you control the 'What If's?' To keep them from consuming you? In many of the interviews I do for Narrative Live I find many different false narratives people live by. Some of the most harmful ones are the 'What If's?' Great points in identifying and then acting to change
"The what ifs consumed me." Listen to Tyler Schmoll share about the impact high empathy coupled with a lack of boundaries had on his life, and go listen to his full story! https://lnkd.in/g4tAGWKs

In today’s episode of The Daily Hug, I confront that age-old question: What are You Gonna Do When You’re Big, Black, and Scary? What are you gonna do when you’re unsupported, ostracized, and in a foreign land? Do you leave? Do you stay? Do you honor your word? Does it matter? How much do you value integrity? Question, questions, questions only YOU can answer! https://lnkd.in/evpChkFH
