Useful insights from the Oak team on #AI. In healthcare though, aren't we approaching a point where data may become a commodity? (assurance labs, Komodo, etc) If this is the case, subject matter expertise and business models become the core IP and points of differentiations for start-ups. "#LLMs have democratized AI... [therefore] core competencies now will come from companies that have: 1. gold-standard data 2. deep understanding of the status quo processes being addressed 3. the right business model (i.e., SaaS pricing isn’t the answer to everything)"
Oak HC/FT was founded ten years ago to partner with companies solving the most fundamental problems in healthcare and fintech. In the past few years, the democratization of AI has opened the doors to more founders questioning the status quo in these entrenched industries. While many have run to the space, our approach to investing in AI has been deliberate and linked to our core investment philosophy: enduring companies drive systemic change. We believe that successful AI-native companies will be the ones that have identified a specific problem and are using AI interchangeably to tackle it. Today, we are sharing more on how we have thought about the changing environment over the past 18 months. https://lnkd.in/dh9wqmY4
