ᴴᵃᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᴱᵛᵉʳ ᶜᵒⁿˢⁱᵈᵉʳᵉᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜʳᵘᶜⁱᵃˡ ᴿᵒˡᵉ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵉᵃˡᵗʰᶜᵃʳᵉ ᴾʳᵒᶠᵉˢˢⁱᵒⁿᵃˡˢ ? Healthcare professionals form the backbone of our global health system. Their expertise, dedication, and compassion are essential to ensuring that every patient receives high-quality care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that there is a global shortage of about 18 million healthcare workers, highlighting their critical role. In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers were on the front lines, demonstrating their bravery and competence in the face of unprecedented challenges. Their commitment was vital to managing the health crisis. Healthcare professionals do more than treat illnesses; they are involved in prevention, education, and research. For instance, a study published in (The Lancet) found that effective nursing interventions can reduce hospital readmission rates by 25%. They work tirelessly to ensure patient safety and well-being. In often stressful and demanding environments, their ability to provide exceptional care is invaluable. Each year, millions of lives are saved thanks to their dedication. For example, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) administered by trained professionals can triple survival rates after cardiac arrest. Thank you to all healthcare professionals for your hard work and dedication. You are the pillars of our healthcare system and everyday heroes. #Healthcare #HealthcareProfessionals #Nursing #Medicine #Commitment #paramedics #EverydayHeroes #WHO #TheLancet

As part of the NHS Long Term Plan, there is now a growing push towards supported self-care. Self-care is when a patient takes a more active role in preserving and improving their health. Self-care moves away from a 'one-size-fits-all' approach to lower limb care and encourages patients to play a role in decision making and long-term treatment. Self-care is associated with better planned and coordinated care, reduced costs, less strain on nursing time, improved patient motivation and wellbeing, patient empowerment and even better patient outcomes. To learn more about the benefits of self-care, please visit our Lower Limb Education Hub: https://lnkd.in/e9U3QGmU #legsmatter #nhslongtermplan #legulcermanagement #medicalselfcare #lowerlimbconditions #lymphoedema #lymphoedemaawareness #footulcer

Health care is falling through the cracks this election year I am writing this, first, because this problem is life-threatening and urgent, and second, because this gives me the opportunity to promote again the real (committed and inspired) healthcare leaders who have achieved profound results in saving lives and millions of dollars at their institutions, while improving access to care, alleviating ED overcrowding, nurse overload and healthcare inequity: https://lnkd.in/ekBp5vX6. They are doing this today in the current, less than ideal, reimbursement setting, without first requiring as a prerequisite any additional legislation and with no incentive besides their strong commitment to patient-centeredness. Their commitment to patient safety and quality of care resulted in the “side effect” of their efforts – each of them saved millions at their organization. #hhs #cms #nhs #ministryofhealth #healthcarecost #qualityofcare #emergencyovercrowding #nurseshortage #nurseburnout #healthcaremanagement #healthcareinequity #accesstocare
