A recent study in #JBVI sheds light on a critical gap in entrepreneurship education. Despite a surge in course offerings, students often misunderstand the high-risk nature of entrepreneurial success. Data shows the average startup exit value is inflated by a few top performers, skewing students' expectations. It's vital for educators to incorporate real-world risks and outlier success stories to prepare students realistically for entrepreneurial challenges. Inc. Magazine and Fast Company joined forces for our first-ever joint recognition program: Ignition Schools, honoring 50 academic institutions playing an outsized role in preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs. I had the opportunity to write about one of those schools with a somewhat unexpected yet burgeoning entrepreneurship program: Johns Hopkins.
