It’s #TestimonialTuesday time with our clients Aeros Flight Training and the success they achieved with Pentlands. Aeros, established in 1986, are the UK’s leading modular flight training school, offering a range of training for commercial, airline transport and private pilot licenses. With academies operating in Cardiff, Coventry, Gloucester, Wellesbourne and Doncaster.   “Aeros had been with their previous accountancy firm for over a decade, and I felt their focus had slipped. We were not getting the appropriate level of service and there was a lack of communication. They left the filing of the accounts until the 11th hour which made us feel extremely nervous.   The decision to move to was daunting, but Pentlands really stood out from the other firms, they made the process feel simple. Elinor is easy to connect with, she knows her stuff when it comes to accountancy and the Pentlands team have experience of our industry.   What appealed was that Pentlands offer much more then preparing accounts. They can support in the growth of the business, provide Tax advice, helps us to explore exit strategies and more...   In the first year of working with Pentlands they excelled beyond expectation. They worked closely with us and liaised with our former accountant. Jacob kept us informed at every step of the process. In addition, we had had a successful year and wanted the accounts filed promptly so that we could take advantage of the position. So, not only did they ensure a smooth transition from one firm to the other, but they also filed the accounts 3 months ahead of the deadline.   In changing accountants you’d anticipate some hiccups along the way, but with Pentlands there weren’t any. Why do I do it? That's the question I have asked myself several times during some of the more intense periods of the last 15 years of Langricks. So I was happy to write a summary down and have it posted here, it's not all bad, it is, as it says below, challenging but fulfilling. Grant Thornton partners all set to push boat out as a sale looms GT are in the sights of 3 PE firms. The favourite seems to be the owners of the US and Irish GT firms. Many people below partner have been waiting, perhaps expecting a route to partnership. It will be interesting to see how they will behave, or perhaps it makes it easier to attain “partner” status. This deal feels like a fantastic match for both parties. Both firms boast strengths in the financial services and media & entertainment sectors, making their client bases a close fit. Additionally, with a robust presence in Surrey, it seems these two firms share many synergies. But what does this shift mean for the other leading independent firms? Are the remaining firms staying independent out of choice, or are they considering which group to join next? Our data team, who continuously update our CRM to keep track of these constant changes, certainly hope this is the last big move for a while!
