Accelerating #electrification requires a massive investment in grids and #flexibility! ⚡ We urge the European Commission to: 🔜 Undertake an immediate reform of the TEN-E Regulation and Ten-Year Network Development Plan processes for both Transmission System Operators (#TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (#DSOs). 🚗 Address persistent hurdles at the national level, such as double taxation, to incentivise energy storage, including from electric vehicles. 📃 Provide guidelines on anticipatory planning for national authorities to facilitate the expansion, reinforcement and modernisation of grids. Vattenfall InCharge has won a major European tender to install 22,000 additional charging points in the Dutch provinces of Brabant and Limburg. This expansion will significantly boost the public charging infrastructure in the Netherlands, bringing the total number of charging points installed by Vattenfall InCharge in these regions to 59,000! This project aligns with our commitment to sustainable transportation and the energy transition. The new charging stations will focus on grid-conscious charging and cybersecurity, ensuring high standards of price transparency and ease of use. By basing the installation on predicted usage, we can better meet the needs of electric vehicle drivers and alleviate grid congestion during peak hours. Significant challenges in the US with the electrical grid infrastructure. We often take this for granted...
