How will REGENT’s full-scale seaglider prototype reshape regional coastal travel? REGENT Craft has entered the hardware and systems integration phase for its full-scale Viceroy seaglider prototype, marking significant progress toward realizing seaglider travel. Set for sea trials later this year, the Viceroy will be the world’s first passenger-carrying seaglider, validated by extensive on-water testing. CEO Billy Thalheimer expressed excitement about witnessing the prototype in action, highlighting the company's rapid pace in electric mobility. After conceptualizing the seaglider in 2020, REGENT conducted hundreds of hours of tests on a quarter-scale model. Now, with support from digital twin technology, REGENT’s full-scale prototype is being prepared for tests across floating, foiling, and flying modes. Have been wanting to pilot this ship, the Cape Brolga, for a while now to see if I could find out some more about the Airseas #Seawing. While they weren’t able to tell me much as the current crew hadn’t been involved in any of the trials, the idea of using a Kite to help tow a ship, especially a bulk carrier with the hydrodynamics of a floating brick, would have to be one of the more innovative solutions towards a greener shipping industry I’ve come across. Boating season is approaching fast, even in Sweden, and with it all those "exciting" events at various fuel docks. I came across a great instructional video called "Avoid panic at the fuel dock" ("Så här undviker du panik vid sjömacken"). Great for less experienced boaters of course, but not least a great demonstration of the (rather sorry, I must say, although I'm admittedly a bit biased...).state of marine fuel infrastructure. In this case in and around Stockholm, where you would expect things to be a bit more well maintained and on point. From Fossil Free Marine, we obviously appreciate having our world's first unmanned marine fuel station showcased like this, and so clearly compared to what's out there today. 💙🙏💙 Safety, environmental protection, convenience and operator economics on a whole new level!
