Google’s London AI Campus is open. I’m a firm believer in the power of inclusive technology and I’m incredibly proud of this initiative spearheaded by Amy Brown in my team, and Zoe Stern. The Campus is one of many programs we support, equipping individuals and businesses across the #UK with essential digital skills, but it’s the first of its kind. Developed in partnership with Camden Council, and endorsed by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, the Campus is a space dedicated to nurturing the next generation of UK AI talent. Our goal with this project is clear: to make a future in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. Located near Google's London headquarters, the Campus offers a two-year pilot program for sixth formers. Here, students will immerse themselves into the world of AI, gaining practical skills and developing solutions with real-world impact. To further support this learning journey, we're also providing comprehensive training for teachers. Through Experience AI, a free educational program co-created by Google DeepMind and the Raspberry Pi Foundation educators gain the resources and knowledge they need to inspire and engage their students in the exciting world of AI. And there's more! Google.org has just announced a grant of over £865,000 to the Raspberry Pi Foundation. This funding will enable them to work with Parent Zone to expand the reach of Experience AI, ensuring even more teachers across the UK have access to these crucial training resources.
