It's cold outside at the moment and when we come into the colder time of year, people want to know that they're getting their house nice and warm, but without it costing them too much money. One thing that can really impact the quality of heating around your home is if you get air trapped in your radiators. This is most characteristically identified by the radiator being warm at the bottom but cold at the top. This would mean that you would need to bleed the radiators with the radiator key just to let that air out and make sure that you've got water filling your whole radiator to get you as much heat as possible. This means that you're going to get as much heat. For the money that you're spending on running your boiler, so make sure that you're doing this as soon as possible. Another one that might seem counterproductive, especially if you're keeping an eye on what you're heating is costing. You're better to keep your heating running for longer at a constant temperature than to be blasting it up hot because you're feeling cold and then it dropped back down and then you do the same again. It's actually heating the water in your radiators from cold that uses the most energy and will therefore cost you the most. If you're then maintaining that heat within the water, it tends to cost. Lot less, although opening windows and ventilating your property can be great for keeping your moisture levels to where they need to be. If you've got constant draft, it can be pulling that heat out of your home. So keep an eye out, see if you can work out where it's coming from, and speak to someone about resolving it if it does tend to be a problem.
