Staying the same might feel safe, but it’s the risks you take that shape your future. Six years ago, when we launched Baltic Sandbox, we had a vision: to create a local “sandbox” by the Baltic Sea – a place for founders to play, experiment, and get their first footing in the startup world. Our logo, with its little grains of sand, represented those early steps, each grain symbolizing the building blocks of new ideas and fresh energy. We’ve loved every bit of that identity. Over time, Baltic Sandbox birthed a new organisation: Baltic Sandbox Ventures, following our growth from an accelerator to a fund that backs ambitious founders. As we’ve evolved, so has our mission. We realized it was time to step beyond the Sandbox and embrace a new name that reflects who we’ve become. Imagine chasing the impossible — not because it’s easy, but because it’s the only path worth taking. BSV Ventures, once Baltic Sandbox Ventures, has transformed its name and vision to reflect just that. Inspired by the ancient challenge of “squaring the circle,” an ancient math puzzle where people tried to make a perfect square with the same area as a given circle using only a ruler and compass — a problem proven to be impossible, yet it symbolizes the daring pursuit of what seems unachievable. BSV Ventures is here for the dreamers and doers who don’t wait for permission to redefine what's possible. One of the many things that the acronym "BSV" stands for is the moment when the fund invests in innovators pushing the edge of science and technology: *Beyond Scientific Validation*. BSV Ventures invests in innovations from bold scientific visionaries, building on scalable breakthroughs that reshape the future — and are here to support their journey. The Baltic Sandbox name will remain close to home, living on with the Lithuanian accelerator, where a dedicated team runs incubation and pre-acceleration programs for early-stage founders right here on our shores. As for our fund, from now on, we’re BSV Ventures. With this new name, we’re opening a new chapter. There’s much more to share – stay tuned for exciting announcements this week!
