Thanksgiving abroad can feel awkward... Many of us are used to celebrating with family and friends or at least having a significant amount of time off. But when you live abroad, you often don't have any time off work, the kids are still in school, and it feels less and less like a holiday. As someone who has celebrated Thanksgiving for the last 15 years overseas, here's some friendly advice on how to make it feel more like a holiday: 👉 Don't hesitate to celebrate on the Saturday. If the point is being around family and friends, why does it matter if you eat turkey on a certain day of the week? 👉 Take some time to find your favorite holiday foods. It's possible! Don't give up just because you are in a foreign country and assume you can't find them. 👉 Don't be afraid to make new traditions that fit your new schedule. If you can't watch the Lions play on Thursday, start a new tradition that accommodates a Thanksgiving schedule abroad! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating back home and overseas! #americanabroad #expatlife #thanksgiving #traditions

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I started wondering about the tradition of serving turkey. Interestingly, turkey hasn’t always been the star of the holiday feast. It wasn’t until the late 1800s that it gained popularity, thanks in part to advocates like Sarah Hale, who championed it as a symbol of unity and gratitude during efforts to make Thanksgiving a national holiday. If this topic catches your interest, I came across an article that explores it further: https://lnkd.in/eT3_UEA7 Have you ever thought about why turkey became the centerpiece of the celebration? And what’s your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table? #Turkey #ThanksgivingTraditions

🎆 Happy 4th of July Weekend! 🎆 As we celebrate our nation's independence with family, friends, and fireworks, let's also remember to stay safe and protect what matters most. Here are a few quick tips to ensure a fun and secure holiday: Firework Safety: Always follow local laws, keep a bucket of water nearby, and never relight a dud firework. Grill Responsibly: Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your home, deck railings, and overhanging branches. Never leave it unattended. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, especially if you're spending time outdoors. Keep an eye on kids and pets to make sure they're staying cool too. Travel Wisely: If you're hitting the road, make sure your vehicle is in good condition, take frequent breaks, and don't drive distracted or under the influence. Enjoy the festivities and cherish the time with loved ones. If you have any questions about protecting your home, car, or family this holiday, I’m here to help. 🎆 Celebrate Independence Day with peace of mind! 🐾 As we gear up for the Fourth of July festivities, let's not forget about our furry friends. Fireworks and loud noises can be highly stressful for pets, causing anxiety and fear. Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during the celebrations: 1️⃣Keep them indoors: Ensure your pets are safely indoors during fireworks displays. Close windows, draw curtains and turn on soothing music or white noise to help drown out the noise. 2️⃣ Create a safe space: Set up a quiet room or crate where your pet can retreat if they feel overwhelmed. Make it cozy with their favorite toys and blankets. 3️⃣ ID tags and microchips: Double-check that your pet's identification tags are up to date with your current contact information. Consider microchipping them for added security. 4️⃣ Stay calm and reassuring: Your pets look up to you for guidance. Stay calm yourself and provide comfort when they're feeling anxious. Let's make this Fourth of July memorable for all the right reasons! ❤️🐶🐱 #PetSafety #FourthOfJuly #KeepingPetsSafe #CelebrateResponsibly #HSBC #HumaneSocietyofBayCounty

Thanksgiving Day is an important traditional holiday in North American countries, representing gratitude and reunion. Thanksgiving Day originated in 1621 and was initially a feast held by the early settlers in New England, USA, to express their gratitude to the local Native Americans for their help. This became the traditional starting point of the American Thanksgiving Day, and it gradually evolved into a holiday to express gratitude for the good things in life and cherish family and friendship. Thanksgiving Day in the USA is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year, while Thanksgiving Day in Canada is celebrated on the second Monday of October. Thanksgiving Day is also a precious moment for family reunion, sharing delicious meals, and enjoying the joy of kinship. Many people also take this opportunity to reflect and express gratitude for the positive aspects of their lives. MEO Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and happiness. 话题标签 #Thanksgiving2024 话题标签 #freightforwarder 话题标签 #logistics

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it—near or far! 🦃🍂 Thanksgiving has always been a meaningful holiday for me. It’s also a time to reflect on how holidays can differ around the world. What might seem like an ordinary Thursday in one part of the world is a national celebration in another. Taking the time to learn about someone else’s customs, traditions, and holidays is a simple way to show kindness and make others feel valued. Small gestures can go a long way in fostering connection across cultures. Let’s all continue to learn about and honor the traditions that shape those around us. A simple recognition of someone's special day—whether it’s a holiday, tradition, or personal event—can show them kindness. One small gesture at a time, we can foster connection. 🌍🤝 #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #CulturalAwareness #KindnessMatters #GlobalConnections
