I find it deeply troubling that companies are offering a mere 4.8 LPA for professionals with a minimum of 8-9 years of experience. The responsibilities associated with such roles are far more substantial than what this salary suggests. At a time when so many talented individuals are either unemployed or struggling to make ends meet, is this truly how we should approach hiring? Offering such inadequate compensation for significant duties is not a gesture of support but rather an exploitation of people's difficult circumstances. As HR professionals, and more importantly as fellow human beings, we must do better. Practices like this will only stunt the growth of the Kolkata job market and make it harder for companies to retain high-quality employees.
