Education for Change Public Schools’ Post

Have you ever felt lonely? Over 2700 East Oakland students attend Education for Change schools every year, navigating their education with great resilience, and supported by our dedicated staff. Yet many of our students struggle to feel fully connected to their peers, mirroring the national epidemic of loneliness declared by the US Surgeon General. To address this, we are launching an EFC-wide Student Belonging initiative: a comprehensive effort aimed at fostering deeper connections through peer mentoring and other practices informed by the science of belonging. This month, you can help a student feel like they belong.  Research shows that a strong sense of belonging is directly linked to academic success, personal well-being, and overall satisfaction in school. Please join us to help raise $20,000 to fund our new peer mentoring program so that we can increase students’ sense of belonging. ⭐ With a $50 donation, you can cover the cost to train one peer mentor. ⭐ With a $100 donation, you can empower a staff advisor to support peer mentors. ⭐ With a $500 donation, you can cover peer mentoring for an entire class.  Donate here: https://lnkd.in/g7Jirbxu
