How can you make an impact in a young girls life today? As International Women’s day is fast approaching, we are reminded that as we empower girls, they are better positioned to become women that positively contribute to the advancement of their communities. Here are five simple ways you and I can empower a young girl today⬇️: 1. Boost her confidence through encouragement, showing belief in her abilities and potential. 2. Lead by example, demonstrating kindness and resilience as a positive role model she can emulate. 3. Support her interests in various fields like STEM, sports, or art, nurturing her passions and talents. 4. Volunteer to speak to young girls in schools, sharing your experiences and inspiring them to pursue their dreams. 5. Donate educational materials, even small items like pencils, to provide resources that can empower her learning journey. How can we shape a future where girls’ visions lead? Girls aren’t just dreaming—they’re already leading, even in the most challenging times. Their vision for the future is bold and driven by hope and courage, but they need allies to succeed. At The Elaine Education Foundation, we believe in the power of quality education, one of UNICEF and the United Nations’ five game-changing solutions for adolescent girls. Education is key to transforming these visions into reality. On this International Day of the Girl Child, we stand by every girl’s vision for the future. Did you know? Nearly 1 in 5 girls still don’t complete lower-secondary school, and 4 in 10 don’t finish upper-secondary school. (UN) We must change this. Every girl deserves the chance to reach her full potential. Together, we can champion education to empower girls to lead the way to a stronger tomorrow. Happy International Day of the Girl Child! As we finalize our 2025 plans, it's become so clear just how unique and determined this generation of young minority women truly are. They’re driven to achieve greatness and unafraid to say “no” to anything that doesn’t contribute positively to their lives. Now is the time for us to step up and guide these young women, helping them build futures shaped by their choices—not just those of their parents or society. With the addition of our new Academic Counselor (because we all remember the questionable advice some high school counselors gave!), we’re giving girls the chance to tell us who they want to be and supporting them in getting there. For some, that may mean post-secondary education, but for others, it could look entirely different. After all, who said post-secondary is the only path to a fulfilling, successful life? We know that just as much as our girls love Beyoncé—her style, dancing, and singing—they also admire her journey. Beyoncé didn’t become Beyoncé alone or by waiting for help. She took initiative, worked hard, honed her craft, and had a community supporting her every step of the way. That’s the level of support we’re building here, empowering our girls to reach for greatness with confidence and guidance. In order to build the "perfect" organization, we need the community—whether you’re a monetary donor, in-kind sponsor, mentor, or volunteer. We need you-they need you. Your support could be as simple as sharing a post, because you never know who might see it. If you’re a minority woman reading this, or if you know one who has shared how hard it was to get where she wanted to be, take a moment to consider: our girls are right where you once were. And just as you might have wished for a little extra help along the way, they need us now. Let’s create that sense of belonging we once had—the community that strengthens, empowers, and truly hears them. This is our vision at EmpowHERto, and together, we can make it a reality. Signing off, Janeen Brown Ps. If you feel compelled to work with us or even donate, please email [email protected] or call us at 647-370-1231 or 954-656-2346

Where are the women in STEAM? Despite earning half of all STEM bachelor’s degrees, women make up only 27% of the STEAM workforce, according to the US Census Bureau. For Black and Brown girls, the gap is even wider, reflecting systemic barriers that still persist in STEAM. This is why organizations like STEAM Ahead are so critical. By providing resources and opportunities to historically underrepresented students, we can help bridge the gap and empower the next generation. Together, we can close the STEAM education gap for good. Support our programs today to create a better tomorrow. Young women and girls are among some of the most vulnerable living on the streets. Here's how our work is building more inclusive communities for young women and girls. ✏️ Education: An estimated 263 million children are missing out on an education. Girls often become the carer for younger siblings if their parents are working or are forced to work to make a living for their families. This means they miss out on school. Projects like Mobile School help bring education to children who wouldn't be able to access it otherwise. 🩸 Menstrual Hygiene: Periods are still taboo in many countries and girls can be excluded from society whilst they are menstruating. Accessing to period products is also a huge issue. Our partners provide education and products to young women and girls. 📄 Birth Registration: We help young women and girls get the documentation they need to access national social service systems such as healthcare, education or justice. 💸 Economic Empowerment: Many of our partners offer support and guidance on finances to help young women provide for their families. This includes education about how to start up a business and save money for the future. 🚺 Ahead of #InternationalWomensDay tomorrow, we are sharing more about how Toybox is helping to create inclusive communities for young girls and women around the world. Your support could help create more inclusive communities for young women and girls. Do something amazing this International Women's Day and donate to Toybox: https://lnkd.in/gRNP4yQt #StreetOutreach #ToyboxCharity #InspireInclusion #IWD24 #IWD

“Closed mouths don’t get fed.” I don’t know where I first heard this, but I heard a lot growing up. And I coach people on this a lot when it comes to managing their career. If you’ve never heard it before, it basically means speak up when you need something. So keeping that in mind, this post contains a blatant, shameless ask for you to give to an organization that I believe in and support emotionally and financially. We are at a moment in time where it’s more important than ever for girls to know they can control their own destiny. They don’t have to be boxed in as just this or just that. Every day I read about some of the challenges women face, from simple mansplaining at an early age to more complex discussions around the choice between parenting and focusing on career. Since becoming a #girldad, the questions of why this seems to be the norm have become more than theoretical. They’ve become questions I need to have real answers to when talking to my daughter. And while my daughter hasn’t done this specific program, I have seen firsthand the difference it makes for my daughter and other girls to understand their potential and to have support to help them through the key developmental early teen years. That is why I’m so invested in the girl talk mission. Girl Talk’s peer-to-peer mentoring is unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere and really reaches girls when we need to support them most. When it comes to mentoring, the messenger matters, and Girl Talk helps give me comfort that we are in good hands with our next generation of LeadHers! In order to make sure that continues to be the case, please join me supporting Girl Talk and donate today by going to this link: https://lnkd.in/giBnA8hW #LeadHerBeyond #MakingHerStory #GirlDad

At the recent "I AM A WOMAN" seminar, Chandani Di, co-founder of Voice of Slum, took the stage with a heartwarming message about the transformative power of education. She shared stories of children who, once left behind, are now studying in esteemed schools, a testament to the tireless work of the organization. Her words echoed pride, not just in the success of these children, but in the potential for every child to realize their dreams. Chandani Di also spoke passionately about her vision for the future, expressing her desire to open or support schools in every corner of the world. Her commitment to education goes beyond mere charity; it’s about fostering lifelong skills and empowering young minds. She emphasized that while financial aid is crucial, there's more than one way to help. By teaching a skill, mentoring, or simply guiding children toward a better path, we can collectively uplift generations. "If you want to connect with the Voice of Slum, you can not only motivate these children but also help by adopting their education and becoming mentors," she shared. Her speech was a powerful call to action. She invited everyone to contribute in their own way, whether through financial support or sharing life skills. With your help, we can ensure that no child is left behind, and every child gets the chance to dream, learn, and grow. Together, let’s shape the future by supporting the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators. . . . #nonprofit #helpingpeople #empowerment #InspireChange #positiveimpact #underprivileged #voiceofslum . . . Following #MalalaDay last Friday, #WorldYouthSkillsDay serves as a crucial reminder that today's youth are tomorrow's decision-makers. By empowering them with education and skills, we invest in a better future for everyone. Education's transformative impact can uplift individuals and communities alike. Whether it's supporting girls' education like Educate Girls, training programs, universities, or initiatives tackling youth unemployment like Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator and QUEST Alliance, all supported by LGT Venture Philanthropy Foundation https://www.lgtvp.com/en/, there are numerous ways for philanthropists to make a difference today. Not surprisingly Education remains one of the biggest focus areas for philanthropists - as we still have a long way to go. Let’s join forces to create lasting change through education and youth skilling. #YouthEmpowerment #EducationForAll #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #LGTVenturePhilanthropy
