En Google están muy nerviosos... "Google lays off more employees and moves some roles to other countries" 🔴A Google spokesperson confirmed the cuts but declined to elaborate on the number of affected staff. They said that a small percentage of the roles will move to other offices in the US and abroad where Google is putting more investment, including India, Dublin, and Atlanta. 🔴Google has been cutting staff and reorganizing the company throughout 2023 and this year as it attempts to cut back on costs and move faster in critical areas such as AI 🔴In January, CEO Sundar Pichai warned staff that cuts would continue throughout the year, although they would not affect every team, according to a copy of the memo seen by BI. https://bit.ly/3UkAUOQ #google #sundarpichai #AI #ARTIFICIALINTELLIGENCE #IA #INTELIGENCIAARTIFICIAL #layoffs

Google leadership did it ever occur to you that the US is your best market, you sell AdWords, YouTube Ads & YouTube TV to tons of US small-medium businesses/workers, and We the People need jobs to pay for Google AdWords, YouTube Ads, YouTube TV, YouTube Premium and all your other services right? I mean seriously this is the fifth consecutive year of mass layoffs and you're making BILLIONS. Can someone please explain to your senior leadership that is it morally and ethically wrong to keep destroying American jobs? Can't you see what's happening to every-day working class Americans? The entire middle class of hard-working professionals is being gutted thanks to continued mass corporate layoffs since 2019. Are you really this far out of touch with reality in America that you do not see the value of keeping/growing American jobs? Simply put, every $100 your US employees earn here circulates over and over in America prospering servers, bartenders, mechanics, doctors, dentists, grocers, drug stores workers, liquor store workers, gas stations clerks, school teachers, etc. building a wealthy and prosperous American workforce/economy. Every dollar sent to foreign shores never comes back and reduces the trickle down wealth effect for Americans/the US economy. I'm a big Google supporter, my resumes and LI profiles have helped professionals get hired at Google/YT dozens of times. However, I have worked crazy hours for the last five consecutive years helping professionals laid off by big corporations (2019 - present) secure new employment. How can you be oblivious to the plight of American workers (a very productive workforce) who need secure employment to provide for their families/survive? Haven't you seen the large homeless populations in CA on the news? Please have a heart. These repeated layoffs are unethical, immoral, hurtful to the US economy, and they are devasting the financial security of too many working professionals, most of whom have families to support. PLEASE RECONSIDER THESE LAYOFFS, THINK ABOUT WHAT'S BEST FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the economy, and hard-working Americans... Your shareholders. WHY NOT GROW YOUR BUSINESS INSTEAD? Yes, we know you're making billions and billions annually and AI will create trillions in revenue annually. Since I am working with professionals every day, I can tell you the boots on the ground truth you clearly do not see, ~ 50% of all Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. 😎😎😎 Why not focus your world class leadership on growth and developing new products/services to help Americans like Elon Musk does? 😎😎😎 Please do the right thing. Thank you.😎😎😎 God bless America!😎😎😎

Wait ..wait,,, isn’t this the CEO that wants all remote domestic workers back in the office, but ok with laying off 200 engineers domestically and replace them with ones 10k miles away with different time zone? It was never about team building, just executives getting paid. Hypocrisy at its worse. You know Congress should tie government contracts to local hiring & layoffs. if you shut down domestic employment groups and outsource the jobs you should Lose your government contracts, shift those dollars to small businesses who hire locally. Let’s start a movement!!
Welp… Google is laying off at least 200 employees from its “Core” organization, which includes key teams and engineering talent, CNBC has learned. As part of the unit’s reorganization, the company will hire corresponding roles in Mexico and India. https://lnkd.in/gzMk72Cp

""Google employees grill Sundar Pichai and CFO Ruth Porat on why they’re not getting pay rises amid blowout earnings"" This is not just true for Google this year. I think this will be a norm across most companies. The recent very strong business performance will not directly reflect on salary increases. "Google is looking pretty good to outside investors. In the first quarter of 2024 revenue was up 15% year-over-year and operating margins ballooned to 32% from 25%." What Pichai and Porat mention here is pretty much true for all tech companies. Precisely two years ago expenses had way surpassed revenue and companies were chasing growth for a different economic reality than today. Naturally given today's reality organisations will focus on increasing operating margins and pushing up shareholder value. No one will intentionally want to increase staff cost.
