Where did all the fun IP debates go? Back in the day, I had a fun time debating IPRs with people I respected and completely disagreed with. I recall fantastic heated discussions with the late D.G. Sha and Shamnad Basheer, or with Jamie Love. I know my good friend Graham Dutfield and I could never see eye to eye on the evolution and operations of the current IP system. I can see how Tahir Amin is now spearheading the critical IP movement. I have some esteemed colleagues and friends such as Christophe Geiger who will never agree with anything I say or write. Or super new talents, such as dear Olga Gurgula, fiercely fighting for CLs in Ukraine. I certainly see how some dear friends, and past colleagues, such as Jonathan Kimball are now using their considerable brain power to argue for generics. All those debates with #UNCTAD, #ICTSD, #Southcenter, #KEI, and my beloved #StockholmNetwork and Helen Disney. Where did they go? So I say: Let us debate IPRs and have fun doing so. Let us use this digital platform to argue, but also discuss. Let us stop these conversations with the preached, and do some real talking. Anytime, anywhere. Guided by experts and a collaborative cohort, we explored civic engagement and international relations through action projects and debates. This immersive experience honed critical thinking and deepened our understanding of democracy's complexities. Equipped with a nuanced perspective, I'm prepared to contribute meaningfully to future discussions on democracy.

The Visualising Heritage team based within the School of Archaeological & Forensic Sciences @University of Bradford continue to explore the meaning of heritage and the importance of contextual narratives used in place-based research in the runway to Bradford's role as the next UK City of Culture.   Our use of transformative digital technologies for human bioarchaeology and heritage applications are set alongside the wider benefits for designers, planners, creative practitioners and the public – documenting and raising the profile of heritage assets, whilst also helping people to engage with and reimagine the future look and feel of our cities.
