Have you started using your bright white light yet? While the days remain somewhat long and the sun and warmth is still around, now is the time! Daylight savings is 8 weeks away. If we start using our bright white lights now for 5 minutes a day increasing by 5 minutes a week we will be exactly where we need to be when we need it! Next week would be 10 minutes, the week after 15 minutes and up to the practice of using the light for 20-30 minutes a day and well before noon with the ideal time being as early in the morning as one can muster. I've had my own bright white light for about a decade and use it every year. My own experience and that of my patients is this kind of adjunctive treatment to other forms of self care makes us happier, more alert and helps regulate or circadian rhythm.
