As an avid football player and supporter, our Head of Privacy Craig Carr is a huge fan of the benefits of all sports, but in particular what team sports give children, beyond the positive impact of going outside and getting active ⚽ He says being part of team, winning and losing together, builds camaraderie, confidence, resilience and a sense of community and teamwork, as well as providing the opportunity to socialise and have laugh with friends! 👫 In there being no coach available when Craig's son wanted to play football, he was the first to raise his hand to volunteer. Since then, he's coached AFC Corsham Tigers from U6s to U16s for the past decade, as well as coaching AFC Corsham Lionesses for six years 🐅🦁 "Volunteering to coach a children's sports team allows you to bond with your kids and their teammates, while instilling values like discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship, as well as watching your children grow in confidence and ability. It provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives, while sharing in their victories and experiences." #VolunteersDay #UKCharityWeek 💜

"There's a hell of a lot more to us than mini vans and orange slices. We know what shots to take, when to put our foot down and our hands up. Because we're moms. That's what we do. And while soccer may be our game, we're in a league all our own" THE GAME IS CHANGING. When @Bobbie partners with @NWSL to bring lactation rooms to Championship Games, support athlete moms, and celebrate women breaking barriers in sports, they're proving what working moms have always understood - our role as mothers doesn't hold us back, it propels us forward, shattering every ceiling in our path. We're showing our daughters that motherhood isn't a detour from their dreams - it's jet fuel for achieving them. They're growing up seeing moms as athletes, leaders, and game changers, redefining what's possible. AND that Big Mom Energy isn't just transforming sports - it's revolutionizing every arena we enter. It's how we: • Turn crisis management into an art form (hello, toddler negotiations!) • Manage multi-million dollar budgets with the same precision we run our households • Lead teams with the patience and emotional intelligence honed through parenthood • Execute under pressure, because we've mastered the art of grace under absolute chaos • Design solutions with the fresh perspective that only seeing the world through our children's eyes can bring Because while soccer may be their game, tech may be our platform, medicine our calling, law our arena, or design our canvas - we're all changing the world in a league all our own. You'll find moms commanding creative studios, boardrooms, operating rooms, trading floors, research labs, and everywhere excellence lives. Because motherhood doesn't limit our potential - it amplifies it. Bobbie and National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), thank you for championing moms, recognizing that motherhood and achievement aren't mutually exclusive and backing up what moms have always known - we're unstoppable. #MomsinSports #WomenLeaders #BobbiexNWSL #BigMomEnergy

I thought baseball wasn’t for me, but it turns out baseball is for EVERYONE. Thanks to a recommendation from my peers in APPLES Service-Learning, I had the chance to volunteer with the Miracle League of the Triangle. This organization hosts events during their season to give kids with disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy of playing baseball. At first, I was confused. How do kids—especially kids with disabilities—learn to play baseball? I don’t even know how to play myself! But when I arrived and saw everything in action, I quickly realized how wrong I was: Volunteers, working as buddies, help the kids play and have fun. Every time a child hits the ball, runs the bases, or accomplishes something, the entire crowd cheers and celebrates their success. The joy on their faces and the encouragement from everyone around made me realize how powerful an inclusive community can be. The Miracle League taught me so much about what it takes to create a welcoming environment. They’ve built their own accessible fields, gathered a dedicated team of loyal volunteers, and built partnerships with universities and local communities to make it all happen. Most importantly, the Miracle League reminded me of something fundamental: sports are for everyone, no matter who you are. 👉 check out the link and watch a video about the daily routine of Miracle League of the Triangle: https://lnkd.in/ejGAvpiK #LearningSprintIOCYL #IOCYoungLeaders #InternationalOlympicCommittee

⚽️ Football/Soccer as a Tool for Inclusion 🪛 In a world where sports can feel exclusive, I believe football is a powerful tool for inclusion, especially for children starting from scratch. Football teaches essential values like teamwork and respect. When we introduce kids to the game in a fun and accessible way, we’re nurturing not just players, but compassionate citizens. Here are a few strategies I find effective: Create a Safe Space: Children need to feel comfortable exploring and making mistakes. Make it Fun: Use games to teach the basics and break down fear. Focus on Social Skills: Football fosters communication and collaboration. Include Everyone: Adapt sessions for all skill levels to ensure every child feels valued. Celebrate Progress: Recognizing small wins boosts self-esteem. Football is more than a sport; it’s a way to build community and promote inclusion. Let’s inspire the next generation together! hashtag #Football #Inclusion #ChildDevelopment #Teamwork #Soccer
