This time last year, our Chief Growth Officer J Cromack's brother Simon was sadly diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumour, which is an incurable, highly aggressive cancer. Simon's family and friends immediately sprung into action and created the Give Simon Time fundraising campaign, to help extend Simon's life through immunotherapy treatment not available on the NHS, so he can see his teenage daughter fulfil her dream of playing rugby for England's Red Roses, whilst continuing to be the amazing husband, father, brother, son and friend he is. So far, this appeal has raised more than £230,000 from over 1,500 kind donations and some incredible fundraising efforts, including: 🚵 Ryan Thomas cycling the Pyrenees mountains coast-to-coast from Biarritz to Perpignan in under 100 hours 🏊 Nic Warrington swimming 10km per week in a month (equalling 500 laps of her local swimming pool each week) 🏃Tom Smith and Jez Callum completing half marathons Not to mention the pub and pizza nights, silent auctions, rugby club fundraisers and people giving up time to drive for hospital visits. All this starting from the love and will of five volunteers, to the national campaign it's now become, with coverage from BBC news and radio, and rugby celeb shout outs – The Rugby Pod, Andy Farrell and Mike Tindall. The good news is, although it's been a very difficult journey, Simon's treatment is having a positive impact and giving him more time, with his latest MRI scan showing the tumour stabilised. However, the fight is not yet over. This treatment is vital and expensive – reliant on your generous support. This #VolunteersDay, during #UKCharityWeek, please read Simon's story and see how you can help #GiveSimonTime. Donate, volunteer, fundraise – every contribution makes such a difference 🙏 https://lnkd.in/e_Wk3NWM

My Funky Hair Funday fundraising pack has arrived from The Little Princess Trust and I’m very excited. A Funky Hair Funday is simply an opportunity to get colleagues, classmates, friends and family involved to style hair - or heads - in any way you like to raise money for The Little Princess Trust. Did you know Each year The Little Princess Trust provide around 2,000 real hair wigs, free of charge to children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other conditions. It costs around £700 to provide a wig for a child or young person. Cancer is the leading cause of death in children aged between 1 and 15 but did you know that only 2% of the yearly public cancer research spend in the UK* is allocated to research entirely focused on childhood and young adult cancer? Since 2016 The Little Princess Trust has committed more than £25 million to finding kinder and more effective treatments for childhood cancers. Many people raise funds for The Little Princess Trust through haircuts, however, not everyone can do that. So why don’t you host a Funky Hair Funday to have some fun and raise money for this great cause? Click the link in the comments to get your pack and you too can help others. #FunkyHairFunday #Fun #ChildhoodCancer #Wigs #Research * Estimated amount based on data from the National Cancer Research Institute

This month we asked all our team to put forward charities meaningful to them personally and then each Charity received around £300: St Peters Hospice https://lnkd.in/gD3-_UGm Sobell House Oxford https://sobellhouse.org/ Cassington Playground Appeal https://lnkd.in/gGcSxmtu Tiny Tickers https://lnkd.in/gkWBinJv Stroud Womens Refuge https://lnkd.in/gxx-nUaD Prostate Cancer https://lnkd.in/gXA6VQ7s Fareshare https://lnkd.in/gqVd_YEg Mentoring Plus https://mentoringplus.net/ Why you may ask? (apart from us being lovely people) It’s because we don’t accept commission from any of the companies we recommend at Accurise – we never have done. When we recommend a service to our clients we want them to be certain that we are doing it because we like the service and we think it’s a good fit for them – not because we are being paid to recommend it. When we are approached with offers like that we just ask instead that they offer our clients the best possible prices, but sometimes it doesn’t work like that and our choice is to take the money or not. When that happens, we collect it up and donate it to charity instead. So next time someone recommends a product or service, ask them what they are getting out of it - and if it’s because they genuinely think it’s the best product for you. #partnernotasupplier

🌟 Exciting News & A Call for Support! 🌟 After a refreshing family holiday where I focused on connecting my kids with their relatives, I’m back on LinkedIn with a purpose-driven challenge. At The Transformation Group, we’re fortunate to align our professional values with meaningful causes. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be supporting our primary charity partner, Tour de Cure Australia, by taking on a personal challenge: running 50km to raise funds for cancer research with Suncorp Group the sponsor of the event. Having recently completed a 450km cycling challenge, this run feels like a different kind of uphill battle without the luxury of training. The cause hits close to home as my wife’s family has recently faced a heartbreaking loss due to cancer. This run is dedicated to all the families affected by this disease, and I’m committed to giving it my best shot despite my fears of injury (currently dealing with two strained calf muscles so can't run more than 8k). Here’s where I’d deeply appreciate your support: Donations: Every contribution helps us get closer to a cure. Training Tips: With only 2 weeks to prepare, any advice on running, nutrition, or injury prevention would be incredibly valuable. Moral Support: Just knowing you’re cheering me on would mean the world! Feel free to contribute or share your insights via the link below. Let’s come together to make a difference! https://lnkd.in/gRajRPQ2 - team of 1 Thank you for your support and encouragement! #CharityChallenge #CancerResearch #RunningForACause #SupportAndDonate #MakeADifference

Hello LinkedIn Connections, I do not post much on LinkedIn. I am more of a reader than a contributor. So posting is a little out of my comfort zone. It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my mother has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, at the young age of 61. ALS is a progressive and fatal neurological disorder that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement such as walking, swallowing and breathing. You might have heard of ALS in light of the 2014 #IceBucketChallenge, which has resulted in several life prolonging medications for ALS patients. Since her diagnosis, she has moved in with me so that I can be her caretaker alongside the professionals. This is a very physically and emotionally demanding role that I am delighted to do - being her caretaker is fulfilling God's work. I truly stand by that. I bring this up because the ALS Association hosts annual walks in different cities around the United States to raise money for ALS research and resources as well as spread awareness of this awful disease. In honor of my mothers everyday battle, I created a team, named Tammy's Tenacity, for the Fort Worth ALS Walk to Defeat ALS event happening on October 19th, 2024. As team captain, it is my role to cultivate a team and fundraise for further ALS research and resources. So, I am taking a leap of faith to ask my connections and/or their organizations to humbly donate to my team, Tammy's Tenacity. Your donation, big or small, greatly improves the life of ALS patients and their caretakers. Let's find a CURE! 🙏 To make a donation to my team, use the link below and search the team name "Tammy's Tenacity". Select a team member (you can select me, Sarah Salas) to make a one-time donation to. Each donation will receive a LinkedIn accreditation post from me, personally. 😊 #ALS #LouGehrigsDisease #AmyotrophicLateralSclerosis #ALSawareness #FindACure #ALScaretaker #Fundraising #Donations https://lnkd.in/g9s49CDc

Most people trying to pay for medical expenses for a catastrophic diagnosis/condition (SCI, Rare Diseases, amputations, Cancer, CP, organ transplants, ALS, etc.) tend to automatically go to Go Fund Me. We have all seen and donated to our friends, and colleagues over the years. However, I want to tell you about a better resource that I've worked with, Help Hope Live. If you or a loved one/colleague needs to fundraise to pay for medical expenses, therapy, medical equipment, etc., please...please look into Help Hope Live (instead of Go Fund Me). Because Help Hope Live is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), when you create a fundraising page to support your medical expenses, you have the following advantages: - Your donors get a charitable tax deduction for their donation (Go Fund Me can't do that). This may inspire people to donate more because of the deduction. - They pay your medical bills directly from what your fundraising page raised. - They say it shouldn't jeopardize your medicaid coverage as well. https://lnkd.in/ds_fFPRM

Imagine waking up at 7am, and the first thing you have to do is put on your vest and start nebulizing for 30 minutes. During those 30 minutes the vest is vibrating at a high frequency which separates mucus from the airway walls and allows you to cough up and clear the mucus. It’s now 7:30am, and you continue with your day… But wait, it’s 11:00am, and you must do the 30 minute process all over again. Now it’s 4pm, and you have to do the process all over again... And again one last time at 10pm before you go to bed…. This is the reality for Will Corcoran, who I had the pleasure of meeting during a Cystic Fibrosis discussion. Will was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when he was just 3 months old. He is now 26 years old and spends more than 2 hours a day doing his breathing treatments. Although CF presents different for everyone, there is one thing for sure, we need to find a cure! I was recently selected for the 2024 Milwaukee’s Finest Campaign. With this honor comes the responsibility of raising money for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is an inherited, life-threatening disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of nearly 50,000 children and adults in the United States. People with CF are living into their 30s, 40s and beyond. There is no cure, but there is a lot of hope! Please help us in our fight to make “CF” stand for “Cure Found”. You can help by: - Donating using the following link (please use the donate button NOT the buy tickets button): https://lnkd.in/gsrtZshs - Donating via Venmo (@Emma-Futoransky) or - Donating in the form of a check (if this is the preferred option, please DM me) Thank you for your time and generosity!
