Mastering the art of agile facilitation requires embodying core principles that elevate teams to their ultimate levels of success. Let’s delve into the mindset that separates an Agile Facilitation Apprentice from an Agile Supreme Wizard 🧙♂️ ✨ Self-Awareness: Facilitation wizards cultivate deep self-awareness, understanding their thoughts, emotions and biases. This allows them to remain neutral, authentic guides for their groups. 🧞 Social Awareness: A great facilitation wizard deeply comprehends group dynamics. They sense the energy flow, hierarchies, and complex interpersonal relationships that shape each team interaction. ⚡️ Power in Combined Strengths: Powerful facilitators know to leverage the diversity of perspectives rather than highlight a single viewpoint. They confidently shape each team member's perspective into a collaborative force that surpasses what any lone ranger can achieve. 📖 Openness and Passion: With open minds and contagious enthusiasm, wizards spark curiosity in every participant. Their passion can fuel the team's motivation to explore, collaborate and co-create. 🧘🏽♂️ Self-management: In team working teams, emotions can often run high. But wizards must remain steadfast while in the eye of the storm. They know how to manage their responses while holding a safe space for groups to transform. In mastering these principles, you'll unlock the wizardry required to propel teams toward realising their full potential and embody the path of the Agile Facilitation Wizard 🔮 #agilefacilitation #agilemindset #collaboration #scrum

Becoming a master at facilitation starts with self-awareness. By understanding and managing yourself, you can better create a positive environment and guide your team to success. agile42 South Africa's post below summarises it quite nicely.

I was asked a question Yesterday which caught me out It was in an interview - which is never a great time to miss your lines - it was a question that I wasn't expecting but one that I should've known the answer for easily 🤦♂️ "What are you hoping to achieve with the The Visual Agile Coach Playbook 📕?" Where's the elevator pitch when you need it? 🚡 It prompted me to look back on where The Visual Agile Coach idea started, it was probably this visual - Olina Glindevi ✏️using visuals to explain the role of the Agile Coach and illustrating her strong belief in communicating visually 🎨 "It's more accessible, complex topics can be explained more easily and its more fun! Agile is a very visual way of working, for me Agile Coaching and Visual Coaching go hand in hand". In one of our original posts we asked: what is the purpose of an Agile Coach? We decided on this: "Ultimately the Agile Coach should leave a legacy of sound Agile ways of working. Seeing their coachees become the coach or a manager lead with a full Agile toolkit is the most satisfactory part of being an Agile Coach" The answer was there all along: show the way, provide a toolkit, encourage personal development and have fun! #agile #agileleadership #agilecoach #agileworking #DiscoverDevelopDo

The next meeting of the Philadelphia Area Agile Coaching Dojo meetup group is this Tuesday, July 9, at 4 PM EDT. We are experimenting with focusing each meeting on one of the elements of the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel. This month's focus is on the Transforming aspects of Agile Coaching (things like org design and organizational change). If you are interested in how to cultivate organizational change, make sure you join us at this meetup! This is a virtual meeting, so if you are from the Philly area, great, but you can also join us even if you are not from Philly! We love our out of town members just as much (even if you aren't sure how to pronounce Bala Cynwyd! 😉 ) We are going to use a lean coffee format for this session where everyone suggests agile or agile coaching related topics they'd like to discuss. Remember this month, we'll give special priority to topics related to cultivating organizational change. Participants will vote on the topics they'd like to discuss and we'll spend the meeting talking about as many of the topics as possible! You'll get the chance to discuss agile coaching challenges and questions with peers in a safe, judgment-free space. It is a great learning experience for all us regardless of our level of experience. If you haven't RSVP'd yet and are interested in joining us, you can RSVP for the session at: https://lnkd.in/ef-TzJcj. If you can't make it on Tuesday and would like to join our group, you can do so at: https://lnkd.in/gm8EVGup. Hope to see you on Tuesday afternoon! #agilecoaching #phillytech #orgdesign #organizationalchange #leancoffee #agile

✴✴✴ The Power of Storytelling in Agile Coaching ✴✴✴ As an Agile Coach, I've been part of many transformation initiatives where storytelling has played a pivotal role. Stories can illustrate complex concepts, foster understanding, and build a shared vision. In one engagement, I used a story to explain the value of iterative development. By comparing our project to building a house, explaining how laying a solid foundation step-by-step leads to a stronger structure, the concept became relatable and memorable. Storytelling also helps in addressing resistance by connecting emotionally with the audience and demonstrating real-life successes and failures. For instance, during a challenging transformation, the team was skeptical about adopting Agile practices. I shared a story about a previous project where Agile principles turned a failing initiative into a success. By highlighting specific struggles and how Agile methods overcame them, the team saw the potential benefits and became more open to change. This approach not only clarified Agile concepts but also inspired confidence and trust. For fellow coaches, integrating storytelling into your coaching toolkit can significantly enhance your impact. It bridges the gap between theory and practice, making Agile principles more accessible and engaging. How do you use storytelling in your coaching engagements? #AgileCoaching #Storytelling #Transformation #Leadership #TeamEngagement #EffectiveCommunication #ramanthkashikar #agilecoach
