This week is International Coaching Week, and perhaps you're thinking you might like to train to be a coach? Getting a great foundation is an essential start. I'm fortunate that I work with two amazing coach training schools - this one below, from Ailbhe Harrington MA MCC is Aspire Coach Training and offers a comprehensive programme that's accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Level 1 programme, is worth checking out - with a new cohort starting this Autumn. Whether you want to add coaching skills to your leadership capabilites or work as a professional coach, this training is worth checking out. Regardless of where you choose to train, please ensure you do your research and ask lots of questions. All coach training programmes are not the same. Some might give you the theory of coaching but not the skills to coach, some may offer greater experiential and practice elements and others might offer none, some might provide more demos and practice opportunities and others might not be accredited with a reputal coaching body such as the ICF, EMCC or ACC or use confusing language to obsecure what they're really offering. And price alone isn't an indicator. Ultimately, engage the coaching school in conversation and ask questions to find out if it's suitable for the what you're looking to achieve and aligned with the way you learn. #CoachingWeek #InternationalCoachingFederation
