I had fun moderating a panel discussion at The State of Fintech Conference hosted by 1982 Ventures and Trihill Capital.
Many thanks to my victims, I mean fellow panelists: Dima (Alami), Yosia (Paper.id), Kevin (Wagely), and Melisa (Superbank).
What is the state of fintech? Growing more prudently, less burning cash, and added emphasis on path to profitability n sustainability.

Our latest blog features Alston Zecha, Partner at Eight Roads and provides an insightful view of the fintech industry. In particular, regarding investments and advisor allocations to alternatives, I found this to be interesting:
"Private capital investment in alternative assets grew from $4.6 trillion in the early 2010s to close to $13.5 trillion in 2021. More importantly, financial advisors that previously steered clear of alternatives are now recommending that their clients allocate as much as 25% of their portfolios to them. As a result, we’re seeing endowments, sovereign wealth funds, and other big allocators of capital moving to alternative assets in an effort both to diversify their portfolios and earn higher returns."
