Share an experience that I had in the exhibition season this year. I went to an exhibition which I haven't visited for 5 years. Now, there is an app which I can purchase e-ticket and went through the entrance directly with showing the QR code. One month later, I went to another event which was open for purchasing e-ticket. I just purchased the e-ticket and then showed it to the entrance staff but they said I need to exchange the physical ticket. Then I spent 30 mins in the queue, and finally get the "real ticket" at the ticketing counter. This own experience is a typical customer expectation being changed by the market standard. Definitely we have to understand what our direct competitors are doing, meanwhile customer expectation and perception can be affected by many factors, what we have to do is to well identify what our target customers are expecting.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a bush it won’t have passed you by that Oasis are reuniting for a tour and regardless of whether or not you’re a fan, there’s been incredible backlash when it comes to the pricing of tickets. In some cases Ticketmaster was demanding as much as £350 per ticket, some £200 more than originally advertised. Understandably this hasn’t gone down well with those trying to bag themselves a long-awaited ticket. Whilst the band themselves have announced two further live shows where tickets will be offered on an invitation-only ballot process to appease those unable to get tickets, there is an undeniable impact on the band’s reputation from the approach to pricing of their tickets. And as for Ticketmaster, they are being investigated by the Competition and Markets Authority amidst concerns over how ‘dynamic pricing’ may have been used. What do you think about dynamic pricing? Friend or foe? #DynamicPricing #Ticketmaster #PricingNews

Dynamic Pricing. It's a term that we might hear more of with the Oasis Tour generating significant publicity over the weekend. While demand may surge for the expert services we offer our clients, price isn't the primary factor for their choice; quite the opposite, it's the value we deliver. Ticketmaster's approach aims to deter resellers, yet the strategy of charging £350 per ticket, as opposed to £125, seems to have fueled demand further. This raises the question: When does perceived value align with increasing demand? Let me know your thoughts! #Oasis #tickets #DynamicPricing

🎲 Fooled by randomness 🎫 After Ticketmaster's total failure with #oasis tickets, I wonder: does it still make sense to deal with sales for these hyped events as we have always done? #Ticketmaster claims they want to give everyone "fair" access to tickets. I won’t get into the sneaky topic of Dynamic Pricing –it’s another story– but let’s talk about how "unfair" ticket sales can be in situations like this: people getting kicked out of the queue, flagged as bots, blocked at the checkout when they thought it was done. If we're going to be fooled by randomness, as Taleb might say, why not admit it from the start? Why not turn ticket sales into a lottery? I select seat B7, and while the lottery is open, anyone can choose that seat. When the lottery ends, everyone who picked the same seat enters a draw. The most popular seats will have more people in the lottery. The more seats I choose, the more lotteries I enter. ✅ Benefits: - Less frustration for buyers; - Lower carbon footprint (since most activities could be done asynchronously); - Better control over bots, as tickets distribution is deferred;

🚨A few things we would be doing this week if Barmy Army Limited ran Ticketmaster 🚨 Ticket launches aren’t easy, especially where there’s more demand than there are tickets to go around. Here’s some real life examples we’ve used to improve customer ticketing experiences in the past. PS - I’m also doing this post to gloat… 🎶🎶 🧾make sure feedback forms on booking experience go to bookers to ensure we’re taking constructive feedback on board from those who were successful in getting tickets 💻📞identify some of our most frustrated customers from launch through social media & customer service channels, then ring and speak to every single one of them. This can be incredibly valuable for feedback, but also to see what we can do to help these people out 🎟️ contact our partners to see if there is any further available stock to support those who were unsuccessful - we were incredibly fortunate to be able to do this for the 2023 Men’s Ashes and were able to offer these tickets to people we knew were unsuccessful in the ballot Shoutout to Edgbaston Stadium & Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire Cricket Club on this! 🍾identify immediately any bottlenecks seen in the customer booking journey and take action to eliminate these from future launches 😀 make sure everyone who visited our site on a launch day feels respected and valued as a fan of Oasis / England Cricket - regardless of the outcome of their launch day Have I missed anything else we should be doing?
