🌍 Understand Your 'Why' in Sustainability ⁉️ Purpose over compliance will lead to meaningful change. As global sustainability regulations tighten, companies must focus on their core purpose, not just compliance. Directives like the EU's CSRD highlight the risk of merely checking boxes. Understanding your "why" is essential and varies by industry: 1. High CO2 Emitters: Shift to renewables to stay competitive. 2. Labour-Intensive Businesses: Enhance employee welfare to boost retention. 3. Customer-Driven Companies: Align with market demands for sustainability. 4. Sustainable Enterprises: Scale operations to maximize impact. Thanks Josh Green & Elizabeth Meyer/ Novata for this article in Sustainability Magazine #Sustainability #sdgs

With sustainability reporting standards headlining ESG news this year, the focus has turned to the reporting of Scope 3 emissions, which will soon be mandatory from 2026 onwards in addition to existing requirements. Speaking with South China Morning Post SCMP, Managing Director Benjamin Soh shared that many SMEs have not started reporting on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. However, pressure on larger companies to report Scope 3 emissions means that SMEs “will need to start disclosing their emissions if they want to do business with the largest firms”. To provide a comprehensive and reliable solution for the calculation of emissions along the entire supply chain, STACS ESGpedia Nexus platform digitally empowers both SMEs and corporates to calculate their emissions from various sources from Scope 1 to Scope 3, in accordance with the internationally recognised standard, ISO14064. Managing Director Benjamin Soh also highlighted that to help businesses meet rising reporting regulations, “we need scalable, reliable, tech-enabled solutions for this to really happen, and therefore the industry has to be compliant.” 👉🏻 Read the full South China Morning Post SCMP interview coverage here: https://lnkd.in/g-gyEVJn #sustainabilityreporting #ESGpedia #esg #esgcompliance #esgdata #scope3 Ray Ferguson | Benjamin Soh | David Teo | Jin Ser | Madeleine Chang | Cleo Tan | Benjamin Tan | Grace Lim
