Have you ever stopped to think about how much food we waste? Often, we throw away perfectly good fruit just because it's too ripe🍊. This kind of waste is not only unnecessary, it also contributes to pollution🗑️. Today marks World Zero Waste Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the environmental impact of food waste. Most of the waste is generated in households🏘️, often because we buy more food than we need, and it goes bad before we can eat it. This results in a lot of perfectly good food being thrown away. At NAT4Bio🍋 we have developed a solution to help reduce food waste. We've created cell-free coatings that are both natural and sustainable. These coatings help preserve food and keep it fresh for longer, meaning less waste and pollution. #WorldZeroWasteDay #Coatings #Sustainable #Food

Stop Food Waste Day: Possibly A Surprising Perspective from Bio Collectors It might seem counterintuitive—why would a company dedicated to processing and collecting food waste advocate for reducing it? Even though we specialise in anaerobic digestion (AD) and food waste collection, our ultimate goal is a sustainable future, which starts with reducing waste. In the UK, a staggering 6.4 million tonnes of food are thrown away each year, with 60-70% of this waste coming from our homes. The capacity of the UK market to process this waste through AD is simply not enough to handle the volume. The waste hierarchy—reduce, reuse, recycle—guides us for a reason. We must prioritise reducing our waste wherever possible. When excess remains, redistribution to those in need is a crucial next step. Only after these avenues have been exhausted should recycling through AD come into play. At Bio Collectors, we’re proud of our role in recycling what remains into energy and bio fertiliser. But let's remember, every bit of food waste prevented is a step towards a healthier planet. This Stop Food Waste Day, let's commit to cutting down our waste footprint. Together, we can make a difference! To see what we do watch the video below! ♻️💚 Let’s cherish our resources, redistribute excess, and recycle what’s left with the best processes available. #StopFoodWasteDay #Sustainability #WasteNotWantNot #BioCollectors
