I’ve got a little story to share that might resonate with some of you. So, I was laid off from my job as a Recruiting Manager back on February 6th. It was tough, but I kept pushing forward. I started applying for roles, both locally and in various "remote" locations – this is where things got interesting! I stumbled upon a position for a Recruiting Manager at a health system, and they had the location listed as “Remote, OR.” Naturally, being in Ohio, I thought, “Remote? Sounds perfect!” 😂 But here’s the kicker: there’s actually a city called Remote in Oregon. Who knew?! Despite the mix-up, the hiring team loved my experience and decided to give me a shot. After six interviews (yes, six!), I got the job on August 6th! 🎉 I even made an Excel tracker to keep tabs on my applications—seriously a lifesaver! Why is job searching such a rollercoaster?
