I submitted my first bid for an international job today. One of the things I learnt in the course of filling the tender documents is proper documentation. By documents, I mean proper record keeping of assets and liabilities, past jobs done etc. keep them. It will count one day. #eventplanning #International

Going to tender? When you look at the time given for tendering you will see there are various time frames for various opportunities. Now imagine your dream contract is up for grabs but you aren’t ready and there are 28 days to tender! What now? Are you compliant? Do you have all the paperwork ready to go? I strongly recommend that the time one spends on writing a proposal for Government Tenders and other similar sort of tenders, that the time spent writing the proposal should be paid for... It can cost anywhere from $1000 to tens of thousands of dollars to write a proposal... It is almost a manual how to do the job in some cases... as the client wants to know whether we are able to do the job. There must be another way, as this is clearly an unfair system (see my article- red flags in procurement).. This is a serious problem- and more serious for smaller organisations like us who are used as 'chump' quotes, quotes that will not win as these organisations have already decided who they are going to use. In a job like the VPHS... the costs are considerable- when you are shortlisted for 3 consecutive years.... you have already lost $30K... you will have to put that loss somewhere... and if you are targeted to be the 'chump;' quote... it is devastating to the business. At least pay some the cost of writing the proposals for competitors competing against the incumbent who has the advantage of doing the job in the past. Ps, try linking the explanations to the tender requirement/objectives. 💼 2. Showcase: A Tapestry of Expertise Demonstrate your experience and expertise in similar projects, and provide some testimonials, references, and recommendation letters from past jobs if you have any. 🛠️ 3. Response: Methodology in Motion Draw a methodology that provides solutions and meets the objectives of the tender. Remember to include personnel /project team and their qualifications. 💡 4.
