Knowledge, Practice, Trial and Performance There are 4 complementary building methods to improve a competency: - Knowledge: Reading, listening, and other ways of getting information about a skill. - Practice: Trying specific parts of the skill with feedback loops to create focused improvements. - Trial: Trying the whole skill in a simulated environment to see how we're doing. - Performance: Putting all the skills and competencies to use for real-world results. https://lnkd.in/gazrCsxG #selfdiscipline

🗣️❤️ All voice users should have a basic understanding as to how their voice works. Would you take up the guitar and start playing a song before learning about the different strings, how to tune it, how it makes sound etc? Our voices are complex instruments that are unable to be seen on a daily basis. It is the only instrument where we have to rely purely on aural and kinaesthetic feedback. Having knowledge about how our instrument functions can fast track your vocal progress and help to eliminate airy fairy concepts, helping you achieve more accurate and consistent results. It can also be very helpful for people who are visual learners. Knowledge is power. 💪 #knowyourvoice #knowledgeispower #vocolove #voice #voiceeducation #voicecare #vocalcoachingonline #vocalcoachlife #voiceteachersofinstagram #adelaide #adelaidevocalcoach #adelaidevocaleducation

10x Your Drumming: Mastering Through Exploration We all experience this: We learn a new drumming concept, master a lick, or discover a cool groove. But what happens next? Often, those ideas get tossed onto a mental pile of "things I can kind of do." Meanwhile, our "go-to" drumming toolbox remains relatively small. 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲? 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲!

🎹 Ear Training Tip of the Day 🎶 Suggestion: Begin with the Tune! When mastering playing by ear, start by identifying the melody. It’s the most recognizable element of a piece, and mastering it first will simplify figuring out the accompanying chords and harmonies. 👉 How to proceed: Hum or sing the melody to yourself, and try to replicate each note on the keyboard. Focus solely on the melody initially—get comfortable with it before tackling the chords! ✨ Try this technique with a favorite song, and see if you can play its melody by ear! Invite a fellow learner to join you! 🎶 #EarTraining #PianoSkills Enroll in my piano by ear course: https://buff.ly/4hClI9m

The Power of Many: Balancing Solo Practice and Group Sessions for Drumming Nirvana Do you prefer solo practice or group sessions? The answer, for me, is a resounding both! While dedicated solo practice is essential, the magic of group drumming can't be replicated. Let me explain why I embrace both approaches:

How to start learning a song? Learning a song doesn't have to be intimidating! With some practice, you can come up with your own method for tackling any track. In my video tutorial, I showed how sitting at the piano might help in understanding those musical notes faster - but that's not all. Listening is another key factor when it comes to learning songs: start by playing and re-playing tunes you love until they become familiar enough so you could reproduce them on an instrument or sing along without looking into lyrics sheets; soon mastering the song will feel like second nature! Today, I stumbled upon an old man playing the saxophone in the park. Despite the hustle and bustle around him, he played with such dedication and skill, unnoticed by passersby. It reminded me of the essence of daily practice in our IT careers. Just like that saxophonist, we often work behind the scenes, refining our skills and perfecting our craft. It's this consistent, diligent practice that eventually creates solutions and innovations that can mesmerize and transform entire systems. Let’s keep honing our skills, even when no one is watching. The mastery we develop today will shape the tech landscape of tomorrow. 🎷💻 #DailyPractice #ITSkills #ContinuousLearning
