Crucial topic: the Commission's assessment of the 2040 climate target puts a strong emphasis on industrial carbon removals as a key difference-maker between 85-90% and 90-90% emission reductions. Eni's Ravenna CCS project - also featured in the podcast - is a prime example of the necessary industrial carbon capture and storage needed to facilitate the energy transition. Its 4 Mt of CO2 per year capacity will be important in ensuring the availability of carbon storage for energy-intensive industries in southern Europe given the North Sea focused geographical imbalance of currently existing and planned projects. 🗣️ Had a great convo on the Pod recently with Alexander Horton from econome. It is always so exciting to talk about the different opportunities that we can explore in the climate space now. 🍀 Having green skills is becoming so important and filling in the skill gap in the market is of utmost importance. As we prepare ourselves for a future ready economy for climate change, we all should figure out how we can contribute to that as a community and society. 🤔 If we want to enter into renewable future where we feel ready, we need people in the market with those skills. Think about what kind of skills would align with where and how you want your career to move forward in, if you are in the climate space? 🌎 Building a better Australia and a better world can't be done without taking concrete steps in the climate space. If our planet is not the same after 50 or 100 years, we are in definite danger. Action needs to driven from the community level. And that's why I always love covering the special series of episodes on "Climate Change & Sustainability" on the Ultimate Global Podcast. 🎧 Might be a great listen for my friends in the climate space: Harry (Greenfluence), Visakhan (Greenfluence), Afonso (NetNada) and ⚡️Oscar Omegna (VoltaRocks) #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment #climatechange

I've heard Chris Williamson say this a couple times now on his Modern Wisdom podcast. "Generic ambition will give you anxiety. Specific ambition will give you direction." Makes a lot of sense. You don't need to have the exact destination mapped out, but a sense of direction makes life a lot easier. I use that word - direction - a lot when talking to young people. Helps to ease the pressure of thinking they have to have their life figured out by the time they're 17. Maybe there's a specific problem/challenge in the world that they care a lot about, ie climate change. Use that as your navigation. Move in the direction of acquiring skills and experiences within the domain of something that interests you. If you don't know what you're interested in, let that be your challenge. Drop a pin in your map of possibilities and head that way. Directions can change. Google Maps might tell you there's a faster route available. Destinations can change. You will change. But only if you take action, and get started. -- If you're that person who is interested in climate, but not sure where to start, there's a webinar happening this Thursday, October 24th at 1pm ET you should check out. Climate Generalists: Power of Generalist skills for a sustainable future being hosted by Generalist World 🌀 Link is in the comments.
