Dru Armstrong’s Post

Last year, a wonderful woman on my team shared how excited she was to work under a female CEO. That made me feel great. But as a diverse CEO, I also feel a responsibility to be transparent about my journey. It's been exciting and fulfilling. But not always easy. My career has required real sacrifices from my family: - Long stretches of me pulling 60-70+ hour work weeks. - Times when it felt like my whole paycheck went to childcare. - Moving from San Francisco to Dallas to Greenville to Austin for my work. But I truly believe there is nothing more feminist than showing my two boys that I can have a successful career while also providing them a stable, loving home. I couldn’t do it without my incredibly supportive husband. Or the trailblazing women who came before me. To aspiring female leaders out there: You can do it. It will be hard sometimes. Ask for help when you need it. And make sure you choose a great partner. 💛

Dru, this post is like a masterclass in leadership, life balance, and sheer grit. Pulling 70-hour weeks, raising two boys, moving cities like you’re chasing the world’s best barbecue, and still inspiring everyone around you—are you sure you’re not secretly a superhero? Your honesty about the sacrifices behind the success is a breath of fresh air. It’s a reminder that real leadership isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, making hard choices, and somehow keeping it all together (probably with a lot of coffee and an incredible partner). Thank you for showing us that it’s possible to lead with strength and heart, while proving to your boys—and all of us—that success and a loving home can go hand in hand. You’re setting the standard and crushing it!
