#weekend_ruminations #project_management #ultimate_stakeholder PMBOK says anyone who is affected by your project is a stakeholder. What PMBOk doesn't say is that the biggest stakeholder is the company you represent. People matter , always have , always will. The company is just as important. And this stakeholder the company is our collective consciousness. It's processes , systems and policies drive our work and activity. PMs might not give much thought to this aspect of their role. But it's vital because ultimately, the company has to thrive for the employee to thrive. Find ways to convey and imbibe best practices from others, and look for continuous improvement to the status quo. This is biggest stakeholder management activity one can possibly undertake. It's better to shun the tendency to think one know it all, esp when it comes to the ever-changing project life cycle. It stops self evaluation and things can turn pretty quick.
