Several top colleges started requiring SAT or ACT scores for the 2024-2025 applications. Here is what I received from Brown. Based on an extensive review of data over the past three years, Brown University will return to its previous policy requiring standardized test scores (either SAT or ACT scores) for first-year applicants beginning with the 2024-25 admission cycle. At Brown, test scores are only one element of a student’s record that is assessed within the context of the opportunities and experiences available to each applicant, and we believe that reinstating the standardized test requirement will help Brown identify promising students from a fuller range of backgrounds. #SAT #ACT

Most people think acing the SAT/ACT is their golden ticket to college. But what if the ticket doesn't even exist anymore? 🎫❌ The rise of test-blind colleges is changing the admissions game entirely. Unlike test-optional policies, where you decide whether to submit scores, test-blind schools won’t even look at your SAT/ACT results, no matter how high they are. This shift gained momentum during the pandemic, with test cancellations and a landmark California ruling that banned standardized tests in the UC system. As a result, many schools adopted test-blind policies, leveling the playing field and encouraging a more holistic approach to evaluating applicants. It’s a powerful reminder that admissions isn’t just about a number. Your essays, extracurriculars, and overall story can have an even greater impact. If you’re applying and want the full list of test blind colleges, feel free to message us or comment your email.
