Today I am very proud to be part of #Ericsson! We are now redefining digitalization with a new partnership with 12 of the world’s largest operators! Truly Ericsson is trailblazing the way to unlocking the full power of mobile networks to the next generation of innovation & mobile digitalization! Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm goes deeper into how this historic venture will open up networks and enable new revenue streams for the telecom industry. The new venture will be making advanced network features easily accessible through a global platform for combined network APIs. McKinsey & Co estimates the value of network APIs over the next several years will reach USD 10-30 billion, in addition to the USD 100-300 billion that can be unlocked in additional connectivity and edge-compute revenues for network operators globally. The synergy of high-performance and programmable networks, combined with network APIs, and a vibrant ecosystem of developers, will create a powerful network effect I am excited for Ericsson to start this journey. This can be a game changer! How will satellite direct-to-device (D2D) redefine the future of global connectivity? 🌐 Ericsson is now part of the Mobile Satellite Services Association (MSSA), a key step forward for satellite device-to-device (D2D) and IoT connectivity. 🚀 Launched in February, MSSA aims to build a global ecosystem using L and S band spectrum for mobile satellite services, connecting satellite operators with the telecom industry, and aligning with 3GPP standards. This collaboration expands MSS-based services, ensuring connectivity even in remote areas. Ericsson highlighted the importance of integrating 5G non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) to extend coverage, as mobile networks currently cover less than 40% of Earth’s land or just 12% of the planet. 📊 I find it fascinating how initiatives like these depend not just on technology but also on the broader understanding of AI's potential. How do you envision satellite D2D impacting global connectivity? 🤔 #SatelliteConnectivity #5GInnovation #IoT
