✨ New Owner Highlight: Molly Georgia, Chief Operating Officer ❤️ What I love about DPG: Nothing beats getting to work with a smart, savvy, caring, and driven group of young people. "Always Challenge the Old Ways" is a core belief for us and keeps me inspired everyday to find inefficiencies and seek out opportunities in everything from our processes to our products and our people. Always having something new to work on with our every evolving company makes the job so interesting and can't wait to see what the next few years of ownership bring us! 🚀 What I’m most excited for about DPG: Getting to have a front row seat to building a business, especially one that intersects so many different industries, from marketing, digital, political, and more. Some highlights would be bringing on new staff and integrating them into our culture and helping them grow over time, developing more strategic ways of operating internally, and expanding our partnerships with others in the space through technology and products. It's an exciting time for us and eager to keep things moving.

I distilled Michael Hines “How to do a new product launch” brilliant session into: Marrying the most interesting thing about a product/service with the most relevant culture to address commercial ambitions. If my synthesis is taken apart as a movie, its elements will look like this: - [ ] Product’s interestingness = main character. - [ ] Cultural plug-in = supporting character. - [ ] Business/commercial ambition = executive producer. Applying Marketing fundamentals is necessary to finding main character. This determines which supporting character to cast/leverage, and where to find it-in fandoms, niche movements, communities etc.? Interactions of main and supporting characters must justify executive producer’s investment. And also address its interest. Ultimately, success or otherwise of launching a new product dwells largely on quality of questions asked relative to: - [ ] Product’s need fulfillment. - [ ] In and out of category dynamics. - [ ] Business situation and intentions. Note: This post is restricted to the core of the session. I left out a lot in terms of session’s scope and depth. But overall, the it was well put together and useful. At least for me. If you see a company saying “We’re just like one big family”….. run. Companies should operate like a professional sports team. I found this concept from Hanna Larsson post on how Netflix perfected this mentality and it was so good I had to share it myself. A family loves you no matter what happens. Whether things go right, or wrong, the primary goal of everything is harmony. Nothing more. A professional sports team plays to win, with the performance taking front and centre. Now, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t love your teammates, you of course should. But what it does mean is that everyone should be held to a standard. A standard that is high enough that allow the whole team to win. If you don’t meet that standard you’re cut from the team. Managers are responsible for hiring and cultivating amazing players. Players are responsible for delivering the high standards they know they can reach. It’s as simple as that. A company is not a family, it’s a sports team. Never forget that.

Just touched down back in reality (with a serious case of jetlag), but my mind is still buzzing from my first time at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity! Surrounded by everyday creatives, I saw works that pushed boundaries and redefining what's possible. The storytelling, innovation, and the sheer power of ideas to change the world – it was truly intoxicating. While I’m still fresh off a week immersed in creativity's global epicenter, I’d love to share my key takeaways: Know your 🔠 : ▶️ Audacity: The truly groundbreaking work wasn't afraid to be ambitious, tackling significant challenges with innovative solutions. ▶️ Bravery: More than just being daring, it was about using that boldness to achieve results. The winning campaigns made smart choices that directly served their objectives. ▶️ Causality: Going beyond "might have worked" to demonstrably drive REAL, measurable results. ▶️ Direction: Not followers; but pioneers. These are works that pushed the industry forward, setting new standards for creativity and effectiveness. Feeling insanely grateful for this experience, and a reminder that the future of advertising & marketing is bold, brave, and bursting with possibility. Here's to pushing boundaries, using our ideas for good, and building that next generation of creative changemakers. I’m already itching to put these learnings into action! 😚

Every manager has unique strengths, but not all are equipped to nurture emerging talent. Some excel at promoting established artists but lack the experience to guide someone just starting out. Finding the right manager can be a challenge—many have worked with multiple well-known managers before finding the right fit. It’s essential to collaborate with someone who not only has the right connections but is genuinely committed to your vision. If they’re only interested because they see "promise," it’s time to keep searching. Consider a trial period of three to six months before signing any contracts.
