Our latest data reveals some intriguing trends in the Year-Over-Year (YOY) percentage change in prices for domestic vehicle brands. Notably, Buick’s average listed price for new cars has dropped significantly. Though GM as a whole has seen their prices falling as well, Buick has seen the largest drop by far. This could be driven by Buick’s recently released new model, the Envista, whose MSRP, starting at $22,400, comes well below the rest of their offerings. But even with that, it does seem odd that Buick's average listing price has dropped so dramatically. The question remains, did this drop in price translate to an increase in sales? Customers have been hoping for price falls as prices hit historic highs in 2023. So have customers been flocking to Buick as their average price declines? Or have many would-be customers been conditioned to think that new cars are simply unaffordable, while those who know they can afford new cars flock to more luxurious and expensive models?
