At the beginning of November, CLS colleagues came together for our annual service project. This year's project involved making tie blankets to donate to communities in need. Colleagues were so thankful for the opportunity to spend quality time together while giving back. What are you thankful for this holiday season?

5 for the Future: Building a Stronger Muscatine County! Did you know that over $331 million is expected to be transferred from Muscatine County estates in the next 10 years? Thanks to the new "5 for the Future" initiative by Iowa Community Foundations, a portion of those funds could be reinvested right here in our community! What is 5 for the Future? It's a program that encourages individuals to donate just 5% of their estates to their local community foundation. In Muscatine County's case, 5% of that $331 million translates to over $16.5 million! Planned legacy giving can help protect, grow, and spread resources that may otherwise lose roots. Confession: I like Giving Tuesday 🤯 I don't like it for the flood of posts and endless requests I receive, but because it's a day intentionally indicated to giving any kind or amount of personal resources to each other. ❓ Why should I give? We all have needs. Needing can be scary, especially when we spend each day trying to fulfill our own needs and those of our in-group. However, needing can also be exceptionally companionable when we realize it's what we all have in common. So, in my opinion, you should give something this Giving Tuesday because we all need something. ➕ Additionally, today most places have opportunities to match your donation! You can give the same amount on any other day, but today is the day it will make the most impact. ❓ What should I give? The simple answer is to examine what you have to give. You can give time by volunteering, you can give energy by learning about local causes, you can give items to in-kind donations, and, of course, you can always give money. Giving is an expression of empathy. I like Giving Tuesday because today, there is energy, time, and resources committed to compounding your expression of empathy, which is why today is the day to intentionally give.
🎉 Giving Tuesday is here! Today, YOU have the power to help 100% of kids and families thrive. Your gift to United Way of Salt Lake ensures lasting impact where it’s needed most. 🌟 Be the reason someone smiles today. Donate now: https://bit.ly/3Zu2A6A

To be part of a conference like this one and immediately see and hear participants talk about how they are going to use what they learned is a perfect example of what it means to be committed to Serving with a Purpose. #Inspirational
It’s such a pleasure to work with this team to plan and execute the Serving with a Purpose Conference at Ontario Convention Center. We welcome Friends, Trustees, Foundation, & Volunteers from 70+ libraries from all over the State to learn about fundraising and advocacy from experts like Paul Signorelli and Charity Tyler. It’s a wonderful and invigorating day for all of us. So pleased to work with Robin Hoklotubbe, Shawn Thrasher, Ashley Kagan, CHARLES HUGHES, Ady Huertas, Erin Christmas, CHARLES HUGHES, & Toni Cordero

💰 Did you know that Idaho nonprofit organizations reported $9.71 billion in revenue on their most recent tax filings? (Source: ProPublica). This includes 7,992 501c3s making an impact on Idaho's economy. 🌤 But their value is clearly not just numbers. These important organizations work to fix some of societies most complex problems and improve the lives of countless Idahoans every. single. day. 🎁 For many Idaho nonprofits (especially small ones), #IdahoGives is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year, bringing in donations that significantly impact their annual revenue, and therefore the number of people they can serve. 🌟 Which amazing nonprofits are YOU supporting this year?(We had to narrow it down to ten 😊). ⬇ It's simple and easy to donate. This #GivingTuesday please join me in helping Team Rubicon Canada Bring Hope Home for communities recovering from disasters. As the holidays approach and I eagerly await having my kids home for their winter breaks, I'm thinking about the families in Jasper who lost their homes last summer. I knew about Team Rubicon's work through my husband Geordie's involvement, but it was my first mission as a Greyshirt in early September - helping families find precious items and gain closure amid devastating loss - that really brought it to life for me. Team Rubicon's veteran and "kick ass civilian" Greyshirt volunteers bring hope to families in a way that is different from other humanitarian organizations. A lot of their work relates to people's homes - providing safe access during blizzards, removing debris following floods, bringing much-needed resources and helping people find cherished items and offering closure to communities impacted by wildfires, like the families we supported in Jasper. Team Rubicon Canada volunteers are doing just that - volunteering - they just need enough people to donate so they can mobilize volunteers and resources to help when and where they are most needed. (Team Rubicon Canada's impact on the ground is a vital complement to the services provided by the larger, older, better known humanitarian charities - whose name recognition and marketing budgets drive disaster-related donations that may even exceed their budgets; a great reason to support Team Rubicon Canada this year!) If you were looking for a #humanitariancharity where your donation will make a pivotal difference this #GivingTuesday, please consider donating to Team Rubicon Canada. Every donation makes a difference. #bringhopehome #humanitarianresponse #disasterrecovery
