How is it to be a consultant after 10 years in-house❓ Transitioning from in-house after 10 years to consultancy has been a mix of excitement and a bit of fear. Many have asked me about it, and it's something I’ve reflected on myself. While some aspects feel familiar, the dynamics are definitely different. Consultancy really focuses on your growth, leadership, and ability to take initiative—key skills since the quality of service is critical in this field. Personally, I've experienced significant growth, particularly in cloud and AI. The wealth of resources and programs like the #AccelerateProgram are invaluable, equipping employees with the skills and knowledge they need to excel. By investing in employee development, the company ensures it prepares highly skilled consultants ready to deliver good service to clients. It's hard to believe it’s already been four months in Capgemini, during which I've earned several certifications and anticipate more on the horizon. I’ve been involved in incident resolution and discussions on various use cases. Experimenting with GitHub Copilot, dive into AI, and constantly learning are key parts of the journey. Meeting brilliant new people along the way has been another highlight. It can seem like a bit of a rollercoaster for some, but for me, it's been positive, and I’m enjoying it so far. And no, I don’t wear a suit every day! Hope this can be useful for some!
