Look, Law enforcement is society today is constantly being verbally assaulted, torn apart, dissected and ripped apart by individuals that do not want the police for any reason. Law enforcement has traditionally had military ranks due to being quasi-military organization. The ranks are necessary to provide a structured environment. Civilians have a lot of misconceptions about police officers in general. Unfortunately, we live in a society that wants to eliminate the police from every community. The police used to be the authority figures and first line of defense in any community in this country but since the Obama administration that concept has been thrown out and police are no longer allowed to do their job as a result of "knee-jerk" reactions laws and special interest groups brain washing the politicians. Politics has no place in law enforcement. Law enforcement has lost its ability to protect the citizens of their communities due to ridiculous laws and politicians meddling in the daily operations of police agencies. Police officers are no longer respected and trusted by citizens. This has produced higher crime and "do as I want to attitude" among the citizens.
