Is your organization prepared to deploy Generative AI solutions with inherent implications and risks? Moving forward with confidence is easy when organizations ask the right questions. The Deloitte AI Institute and the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions have released a critical report about the nexus of health care and generative AI with critical insights for all stakeholders. The health care industry thrives on trust — trust in providers and payers, medicines and therapies, supply chains, and all the technologies that enable enterprise operations and delivery of care. Some of the most impactful and thrilling potential use cases for artificial intelligence have likely not yet been imagined. A risk framework provides foundational understanding of unique needs and risks while developing and deploying solutions. When creating your framework for trust, ethics, governance and compliance, a few questions help. ✅Which sensitive data sets are necessary for model training, and what laws or regulations apply to that data? ✅ To what degree do stakeholders need to understand how a Generative AI deployment works and the data it consumes? ✅ Does the underlying data contain latent bias? ✅ Which stakeholders are responsible for considering and managing risk and ethics across the AI lifecycle? ✅ How provably reliable are model outputs? ✅ What security infrastructure surrounds sensitive or propriety data and Generative AI deployments? ✅ How is post-deployment monitoring performed, and which stakeholders are accountable? Read our latest critical insights about the challenges for drug discovery, diagnostics, payer and provider capacity, supply chain management and shared technology value. Ask now. There are numerous applications for AI driven tools in healthcare, but driving real value requires a deep understanding of existing clinical operations. Check out this excellent breakdown of how health systems can evaluate AI solutions and, as Khurram Mir wisely put, "distinguish between what is truly transformative and what is mere hype."
There is a lot of noise around AI, making it challenging to distinguish between what is truly transformative and what is mere hype. I believe in the immense transformative power of AI across our society, with its potential in healthcare being particularly groundbreaking. I’m sharing this conceptual framework that came across a while ago (image credit: World Economic Forum) that offers a picture of the AI ecosystem, critical for organizations venturing into this field. While it might not be applicable to everyone, it provides an overview. AI Applications in Healthcare: AI transcends the technology we use daily. It encompasses systems that diagnose illnesses with greater precision, ambient charting to reduce cognitive burdens and charting time, proactive streamlining of hospital operations, and optimized scheduling. This allows our healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care. Core AI Techniques: The engines driving these applications, such as machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks, are evolving to provide smarter and more efficient healthcare solutions. They enable complex tasks like interpreting medical images and personalizing patient care through data analysis. AI Enablers: The success of AI is supported by robust cybersecurity protecting sensitive data, advanced data analytics making sense of complex health information, and ethical guidelines ensuring AI’s responsible use. AI Supporting Infrastructure: The critical infrastructure underpinning these advancements includes high-speed internet and cloud computing, which facilitate the rapid analysis and exchange of medical data, and the IoT, extending care beyond hospital walls through remote monitoring and other modalities. Each component of the AI ecosystem is interdependent, forming a complex yet coherent structure that’s pushing the boundaries of healthcare. We’re witnessing a shift towards more accessible, personalized, and effective healthcare, powered by AI. Healthcare AI is not just a futuristic concept. It’s here, actively enhancing patient outcomes, addressing clinician burnout, and streamlining hospital operations and care delivery. From the precision of diagnostics to the customization of treatments and operational efficiencies, AI is an invaluable ally to health professionals. I hope to see a day in the near future where care is more proactive, patient-centered, and accessible. There is much work to be done, and we all face a significant challenge. Let’s go! #ArtificialIntelligence #Healthcare #Innovation https://lnkd.in/gceEQptd

Analyzing the Growth of AI Technology Through a Decade of Investments AI has rapidly become one of the most transformative and disruptive technologies in modern history. Though initial investments in AI were modest, the trend has accelerated dramatically, impacting nearly every industry. According to #McKinsey's Global Survey on AI, the adoption rate doubled in 2017, with 50% to 60% of companies increasing their AI investments in recent years. Notably, leaders who have seen the highest financial returns from AI are making even larger investments to further scale their operations. This 2022 report revealed that only 40% of respondents had previously allocated at least 5% of their digital budget to AI. Today, over 50% report committing at least that level of investment, if not more. In the early years of the decade, people and organizations were skeptical about AI’s potential. However, as its capabilities in driving business efficiency became clearer in recent years, more companies began investing in AI to expand their client base and generate new revenue streams quickly. This shift has been especially pronounced among technology organizations. According to a 2021 #Gartner survey, 33% of technology providers planned to invest $1 million or more in AI by 2023. AI technologies received the second-highest mean funding allocation compared to other emerging technology areas like cloud computing and IoT. As of 2024, the #EY AI Pulse survey highlights a significant increase in AI investments. According to the survey, 95% of senior leaders are currently investing in AI, and the number of companies investing $10 million or more is expected to double by 2025. Key Statistics on AI Investments By 2025, global #AIinvestment is projected to reach $200 billion (SAP). OpenAI leads the industry with a $14 billion investment (Stocklytics). The United States has invested the most in AI, with $328.5 billion (AIPRM). AI is expected to contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, surpassing the current output of China and India combined (Forbes). The transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing industries is clearer than ever. As an AI-driven recruiter co-pilot, Hyreo’s commitment to leveraging AI will continue to grow, manifesting more advanced capabilities in the years ahead. #InvestmentsInAI #ArtificialIntelligence #AITechnology #AI
