It's been a minute since I've posted here on LI so I thought I would write something today since I'm (finally) on winter break. Like a lot of nurses, I've been busy juggling multiple roles. In August, I transitioned from an adjunct to a tenure-track associate professor at Oklahoma State University - an opportunity I couldn't pass up. We're creating a new program and our first cohort graduates this May! Such an amazing experience - sometimes it feels like we're building the proverbial plane while we're learning to fly it. Scary but very rewarding! I'm still deeply involved with Xapimed and continue to work with Nick Stephenson, Matthew Pham and the team to create competency software nurses actually want to use. I can't wait for y'all to see what we've got in store for 2025! I'm also working with an incredible interdisciplinary team at OSU, in partnership with the Oklahoma Nurses Association, to create a Nursing Leadership Program which offers vital business skills nurses need to bridge the clinical-to-executive leader gap. In collaboration with Bryan Edwards from the Spears School of Business - Oklahoma State University, Marjorie Erdmann, PhD from the OSU Center for Health Systems Innovation, Jane Nelson, Sheila StCyr, MS, RN, NPD-BC, Jaye Robertson, and Bavette Miller, I'm thrilled to announce we have earned two substantial grants from UpskillOK. Press releases come out in early 2025, applications open in May, and courses begin in August. More to come very soon. I've been MIA from LI for a while and look forward to catching up. Many of you are my in-person friends and many of you are my virtual friends. Here's to finding out what you've been up to lately - Cheers and Happy Holidays! 🥂
