Why is the Australian Labor Party Energy Transition like the Kings New Clothes? All large projects require careful detailed planning and continuity of political support for successful outcomes. Unsurprisingly, when nuclear power stations became politicised in democratic countries during the Vietnam war, approval and construction was delayed and costs increased. Since then, all OECD countries except Australia have come to recognise that nuclear energy is essential to address climate change and either host nuclear power stations or import nuclear energy from neighboring countries. It is also recognised that nuclear project delays and cost increases can be avoided by careful planning. See Massachusetts Institute of Technology https://lnkd.in/gxapnUqS. The Hon. Peter Dutton MP is the first Australian leader to recognise the critical role of nuclear power for Australia, and to commit to its successful implementation. He deserves our support and patience while he carries out the careful planning recommended by MIT. In contrast, the Australian Labor Party ignores the facts and instead are doubling down on their energy "transition". PV solar panels now blanket vast areas of valuable agricultural land. The material consumption, mining and environmental impacts of manufacturing and constructing wind and solar are many times greater than nuclear (UNECE 2022). The tens of thousands of kilometers of new transmission lines forced on rural communities in a vain attempt to firm intermittent wind and solar threatens property rights and political stability. The rushed Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro energy storage project is damaging fragile alpine environments and is too slow and too expensive. The first generation of battery costs are also prohibitively expensive... and require replacement every 10 to 20 years. An entire duplicate energy generation system based on fossil fuels is required to guarantee electricity supply, generating much more GHG emissions than nuclear. At times, the rooftop solar and batteries that you paid for will need to be curtailed, and at other times when the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine, businesses and families will be asked to stop using electricity . They call it a demand side response. I call it a supply side failure. Given this massive complexity, it comes as no surprise that energy prices are surging and contributing to a cost of living crisis, imposing needless hardship on families and businesses... and threatening Australia's economy and security. Like the King's new clothes, this failed Australian Labor Party experiment is recognised by all, except by the King and his courtiers.

Dr Dave Colins. What a monologue. I didn't realise people with PHDs could be bought out so easily. The reason why solar pv is curtailed is because the regulator protects the incumbent. That's how all industries work. They do this until the market overwhelms them and they have no choice by to introduce legislation.

ABC 891 today. Energy ombudsman reports 10,000 complaints in SA about the unexpected cost increase. Each day my phone pings with energy price spike alerts. Inner goat cheese circle dwellers swooning over their EV’s and solar kit whilst regular people pay $1,000 per quarter just to cool their homes and keep the lights on. God forbid you run a business or are on a fixed income. Each year the price per kWh goes up. Each year we are told intermittent generation is the answer. Each year we export millions of tonnes of coal and gas which is burnt to deliver more reliable cheaper energy to everyone else but us. Their is no moral high ground to be had here. There is only forwards or backwards and we are not going in the right direction.

Steven Nowakowski Greg Noble @Michael French Ross Martin one of the Inner goat cheese circle dwellers who prepares these tenders personally abused me on Linkedin. When I posted a majestic bird with it's wing sliced off by a wind turbine blade, he writes 'renewables' are for the 'greater good' . Are you for real Tim Entwisle?

All industrial parks should consider becoming a microgrid with their own substation. Buying power at wholesale rates and distributing it a far lower rates within the industrial estate microgrid will drastically lower energy costs and make the resident industries competitive. Both sides of politics are invited to include this initiative to lower energy costs for industry. It may actually make financial sense to build such new greenfield industrial estates with their own microgrids and redevelop some existing industrial estates often in middle of cities as prime real estate. The profits from revaluation of the land should be tax free if reinvested in the new greenfield industrial estates, if not a specific tax say 40% of such capital gains can be directed for the new estate. State governments should support this with legislation as energy retailers and integrated generators-retailers and distribution network owners are likely to oppose strongly The associated benefit is new industrial estates with microgrid should be designed for high rooftop PV penetration and microgrid embedded community utility batteries owned collectively by the microgrid customers #innovation #microgrids #energy #publicpolicy #renewables

Go green, go bust. Just look at Germany. Countries that go nuclear are the winners of the 21st century. Evidence is everywhere.

To "save the world" Albanese and Bowen are quite willing to destroy our pristine forests and unique animal habitats all in the name of reducing our minuscule emissions while sending the economy down the drain.

You can’t argue with ideology!!! Of course they are right and righteous!! People? Who are they? Energy demand? When I let you, ok! Cheaper energy? Maybe when the billionaires have enough!!! Better government More open government Kinder politicians Shallow, hollow words from our leaders

Maybe so our regional cities don’t end up looking like this??
